Carmen Amedio: owner Troy Pork Store, Inc. German Franks & Specialty Sausages Since 1918 We Make it Here Located in historic Troy, New York, the Troy Pork Store, Inc. has been serving generations of satisfied customers since 1918 and is recognized as a leading manufacturer of German frankfurters, specialty sausages and custom services including the manufacturing of various fish and game products. Since its infancy, the Troy Pork Store, Inc. has had a proven track record of high-quality, great tasting meat products that keep our customers coming back for more. With nearly a century of serving the Capitol District, Our motto is certainly a resounding one." WE MAKE IT HERE: always fresh, always premium, always an authentic taste. In 1918, Charles Comerz opened the Troy Pork Store. Thereafter, in 1923, Otto Richter and John Hartmann began working for Mr. Comerz and purchased the store in 1945. Soon, the store welcomed Walter Pohlmann who began working for Mr. Richter until he bought the establishment in 1957. Mr. Pohlmann was born in Bochum, Germany where he learned the German art of sausage making from his master-butcher father who had his own meat business. During WW11, when meat was a scarce commodity, the Pohlmann family closed their business. In 1953 the family relocated to the United States to make a new life for themselves. In the 45 plus years that Mr. Pohlmann served the public as one of the old world highly-skilled sausage makers, thousands have enjoyed the results of his talents. As of August 2004, a fourth generation

of an artful and skilled sausage, meat and frankfurter connoisseur has taken the reins from Mr. Polhmann. Carmen Amedio is the new owner and brings with him many years of experience with-in the meat industry. He is enthusiastic about the prospect of continuing the road of specialized-service as he welcomes new generations of satisfied customers. Carmen has over 25 years experience in the retail/ wholesale meat business both in the private and public sector. His professional history began as a young boy involved in the familys meat and Italian import business. His grandfather, the late Anthony Lombardo, of Lombardos Market and then Lombardos Italian Imports, Rensselaer, NY was a master butcher whom Carmen credits his acquired taste and interest in the meat industry. In later years, Carmen joined Price Chopper Supermarket Corporation. His accomplishments with Price Chopper spanned over a 20 year term. Carmen has extensive experience in the meat industry as well as an acute understanding of high-quality fresh-cuts-of meat, and the manufacturing of various kinds of sausage and frankfurters.
