LG Arts Center
The new LG Arts Center in Seoul, Korea is the flagship performing arts facility in the country. Its 1,100-seat auditorium has quickly developed a reputation for audio quality, thanks to the acoustic and sound-system design provided by Artec Consultants of New York. Communications for the auditorium are based on a 4-channel Clear-Com party-line system. The stage managers control center contains an MS-440 main station, with channels to talent, crews, and lighting staff on beltpacks and headsets. All show-control communications originate with the stage manager. An unusual aspect of the system is the use of Clear-Com IFB systems for one-way communications and zone paging to backstage and on-stage areas. The audio from the PIC-4000B IFB controller is routed to amplifiers and then to paging speakers in the selected zones. These products were chosen because of their durability, compatibility with the communications system, and off-the-shelf adaptability to their needs its bulletproof; its a Clear-Com.
