    STUDENT NEWS

    Whats New
    This was a very exciting week in Kindergarten! The students began their first Readers Theater, The Little Red Hen. We introduced stories elements by discussing the characters, setting, and plot (major events) of the story. We also practiced retelling the story by putting the major events of the story in sequential order. Next week during reading groups, the students will perform the Readers Theater for the other students in the class. Next weeks theme is Staying Healthy. We are going to discover the importance of staying clean and washing our clothes by growing sock gardens. The students are also going to learn how to wash their hands and a fun song to sing while doing so. It is going to be a great time! Next Weeks Vocabulary Words: a, and, of, the, to

    Please return library books by Thursday. Show and Tell is on Friday. Read with your child for 15 minutes each night. Practice this weeks sight words each night. Please check our class calendar weekly for upcoming events and your students week to bring in snack.

    This month I hope you can all join us for our school Thanksgiving Potluck and Thanksgiving performance by Pre-K and Kindergarten. Our school potluck is on November 22 in the Great Hall at 12:00.
