Dear Hiring Manager,

I would like to express my desire to fulfill a position as a warehouse clerk at your company.

Although the majority of my experience is retail related, I believe that I am a strong candidate for
a position at Liberty Mountain, as you specify that you are looking for energetic, friendly,
honest, and hard-working people; all of which are characteristics that I would use to describe
myself. As well as meeting the characteristics specified for this position I also believe that I can
bring an added sense of commitment and passion to the job because of my love for the outdoors
and outdoor activities.

My retail experience, and my eagerness to work with an outdoors company will make me an
excellent warehouse clerk. I would love to work for this company and I am confident that I
would be a beneficial addition to Liberty Mountain.

I have attached my resume and will hope to hear back from you in the coming weeks. Thank you
for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Kyle T Vincent

How to make a Paper Airplane

Step 1. Find an 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper and lay it out in front of you on a flat surface.
Step 2. Fold the sheet of paper down the middle the long direction. Unfold and flatten in front of you
once more. There should be a crease in the paper, this will be your guideline for the rest of the process.
Step 3. Fold the top corners of the paper in to the guideline that was made in step 2, this should form a
point at the top of your paper and two new corners.
Step 4. Fold the newly created corners to the guideline similar to step 3.
Step 5. Fold the paper airplane once more down the center along the guideline that was created in step
2. You have now split your airplane into two sides.
Step 6. Find the point on the angled side and fold it over to match along the bottom edge of your paper
airplane. Flip the airplane over and repeat. This should create the wings.
Step 7.

Life as an Industrial Designer

Industrial designers do a lot of group or team based work. This is done with specialists from other
areas as they all work together to fulfill the needs of a client. Some of the other professionals that
Industrial designers work very close with are engineers, graphic designers, marketers, accountants,
materials scientists as well as other professionals.
A project will usually begin with a meeting of all the required professionals and a client, in this
meeting the designers find out what needs to be created, and what specific functionality it requires
either to make it stand out against other products or to be introduced as a new product entirely. A lot of
market research is done for the assessment of the product performance characteristics that consumers
would like to have as well as what visual characteristics are most attractive to the consumer.
Once enough information is gathered designers will start to make a series of rough sketches of
different design ideas. The best ideas are then brought to the client for review on which ones should or
should not be pursued. After the selection process is completed the designer goes back to work with
more detailed drawings through the uses of CAD (Computer Aided Design) or other graphic design and
imaging software.
Three dimensional prototypes are created off of these computer designs and once again brought to
the client for even further review. The client will make a decision on what the final product should be
and what other improvements can be made or make a decision to restart the process. The product then
moves into the engineering department to begin manufacturing.

Commercial Design
Commercial Design makes up the majority of the industrial and product design profession and is an
area that is entirely supported by the current market. Designers employed in this area of the business is
charged with creating products that customers find a need and a desire for. The designer wants to
create a product that is affordable for the consumer but also one that will generate a good profit.
A perfect example of the type of gadget produced in commercial design is the iPhone. The iPhone is
a product that people have absolutely fallen in love with because they see it as something that offers
them an advantage in their lives as well as being something that they can afford and rely on. The iPhone
has also been huge for apple, bringing the company huge profit and increasing the business value
overall.

Responsible Design
Responsible Design is tasked mainly with crating products that offer some form of charity or life
improvement. A lot of different responsible design products are eco-friendly products or products that
offer a charitable option when a customer makes a purchase. It is a form of design that deals often with
ethics, compassion, altruism, and philanthropy and is not so much concerned with the market or making
money as much as it is concerned with the population that is often underprivileged.

Experimental Design
Experimental Design is where a lot of marketable products will start out before becoming a big
hit in a commercial market. Experimental design is just as it sounds, design that experiments with
different ideas, processes, and materials. This style of design is all about curiosity and finding the next
big thing or the next best way to do certain things. It is probably the smallest division of design but can
often be the entry way to the other areas because of its exploratory nature.

Discursive Design
Discursive Design is the style of design where objects are created to communicate an idea. Often
times these objects are simple everyday utilitarian objects with a little added flair to stand out and relay
a message. Discursive Design is much more closely related to art than it is to the engineering aspect of
design and is only really listed as a design category because of its ties to objects that we put into
everyday use. These design works are usually created to raise awareness about a specific issue that is
pressing in the modern era, and will often times be used to persuade individuals to believe certain
things about certain issues.

Completed coursework towards Cinema Media Communication, Dec 2013

I attended George Fox University starting in August of 2012 after being accepted and given the

unsure of where I wanted to go in life. In my time at GFU I studied both Engineering and Cinema
Media Communication and came to the conclusion that neither career paths fit with what I
wanted to do the rest of my life, what I did learn is that I wanted to do something closely related
with sports or outdoor recreation.

After returning from Oregon I decided that the best way for me to move forward was to take a

myself up for entrance into a larger university.
