    Nu Flow Licensee Renews 1.5 Miles of Cast Iron Pipe


    Specialized Plumbing Technologies, a Nu Flow Licensee in the state of Florida was chosen to rehabilitate
    failing drain stacks for a homeowners association (HOA). The pipe system was rehabilitated with the
    patented Nu Flow process by pulling a seamless structural liner into place, avoiding costly and disruptive
    repairs.
    Project: Renew 1.5 miles of cast iron pipe
    with minimal disruption to the residents who
    live within the community.
    Customer: The Pelican Cove Condominium
    Association in Sarasota, Florida. This
    beautiful 731 unit multi-family complex is
    on 75 acres of wooded land and is primarily
    made up of senior residents.
    Site: All of the 35-year-old three-story
    condominium buildings throughout the
    property.
    System: Approximately 1.5 miles of cast
    iron sanitary drain stacks. The diameters of
    the pipes were 2 and 3.

    Situation: The drain stacks were failing
    daily due to natural deterioration from age,
    which resulted in cracks, root intrusion and infiltration. The HOA knew that repairs must be made, but they
    wanted a non-disruptive solution, because almost all of the residents live there year round.

    Solution: The SPT technicians used Nu Flows Nu Drain system to line the sanitary stacks using existing
    access points. This Pull-in-Place liner covers all breaches in pipe and will greatly extend the useful life
    of the pipes. Black water events were avoided during the project, and resident disruption was extremely
    limited.
