First Person On Scene

(FPOS)
The purpose of the First Person on Scene (FPOS)
qualifications is to provide immediate life support
to the patient pending the arrival of definitive pre
hospital care. This qualification is designed to take
candidates medical knowledge and practical skills
to the next level and will be essential for personnel
working in the demanding areas of the private
security sector.

The course is approved by Edexcel and is IHCD managed.

Basic (3 Days)
Intermediate (5 days)

(FPOS)
Who should attend?
3rg FPOS qualifications are particularly focused to support people working or looking to work in the private security industry. Personnel aiming to find employment in the Close Protection or Maritime Security role will be expected to have a good level of recognised medical training.

Outcomes
Students will gain a well-respected industry qualification and a good working knowledge of initial clinical assessment, trauma management and treatment of a range of medical emergencies.

Course content

The pre-Hospital Environment


(including minimising the risk of infection)

Basic Life Support and Automated External


Defibrillation

Patient Assessment

Trauma Related Emergencies

Respiration and Airway Management

Medical Emergencies

Circulation and Shock

Assessment
The course includes a comprehensive handbook, assessment by an independent examiner and certification. The
qualifications are valid for of 3 years and periodic re-training is suggested in order to keep skills up to date.

Requirements
There is no requirement to have previous medical qualifications to undertake the FPOS course.
Course Duration: 3 Days Basic Cost: 295+VAT

Course Duration: 5 Days Intermediate Cost: 495+VAT
