Planned and implemented math, reading, writing, science, health, and social studies lessons to 5 th and
6th grade students in a Title 1 elementary school.
Selected by the school administration to join a team of specialists and teachers that met afterschool
and served to develop resources and a curriculum for the schools writing program.
Participate in the schools mentoring program for minority and special needs students. Helped lead
many afterschool events such as bowling with other mentors and mentees.
Organize activities that empower children such as field trips to art museums around the Washington
DC area.
Lead science activities such as kite making, airplane building, and pumpkin launches in addition to
activities during field trips. In these STEM activities, students have planned prototypes, designed
projects, tested out their creations, and ultimately reflected on their successes and areas for growth.
Provide differentiated instruction tailored to the individual learning of students.
Implement interventions and behavior plans to fit the diverse needs of students.
Participate in Collaborative Learning Team meetings on unpacking curriculum, creating common
assessments, and sharing resources and strategies for remediating and enriching students.

Act as Science Lead (from 2012 to present) for upper grades where responsibilities included
implementing the science curriculum for 4th-6th graders, ordering science materials for
students, and attending trainings regarding Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).
Act as Team Lead (2013-2014) where responsibilities included coordination of grade level field
trips, liaison between administration and grade level teachers, and facilitate grade level
collaborative learning teams.
Taught 4th grade summer school (2012) to provide students the opportunity to close learning
gaps.
Selected as a member of the Board of Admissions for Thomas Jefferson High School for Science
and Technology (2014), a prestigious school in the nation.
Voted by colleagues onto the Faculty Advisory Council serving as liaison between the staff and
administration.
