Let's embrace diversity!
As we celebrate the first Koronadal International Folklore Festival or Piyesta Kolon Datal", here in Koronadal city, we witness the diversity of different people from different countries. The abundant of their culture and tradition make a transparency to unless and to aid the feud that we tried to revamp, because of our differences. As we go further, this festivity is one way of every Filipinos to bare the hidden beauty of our own country Philippines, Moreover, during the arrival of nine foreign countries and seven (7) cultural groups from different parts of our country, they showcase their own culture through dances and music, which makes as to be amaze and to be educate of what kind of culture they have. These performers were come from Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Slovenia, Russia, Sri Lanka, and Turkey. And along with this, the seven Filipino cultural groups, which are the Bukidnon State University Dance Troupe, ECD Dance Company of the Philippines, Philippine Barangay Folk Dance Group, PNU Kislap Sining Dance Troupe, UP Filipiniana Dance Group, ZSNHS Melengas Dance Ensemble, Inc., and Koronadal City's very own - the Hinugyaw Cultural Dance Troupe. During the parade of different cultural groups, we have seen the tribal performances with the unique entity of different tribes. And they complete the gala with the colorful costumes and large attractive props and ornaments. From the parade, the groups gather in one large venue for the groups full length performance entertaining an even larger audience and by this, the festivity was officially opened. Every movement of their body and the delightful music that they implied during the parade represent the history, traditions, belief, culture, norms, customs and their way of living which give way to their own entities. Also the festivity was tried to given emphases on the origin of their people and to give tribute to the pride of their culture. This activity also imply the riches of their race, which continually keeping in touch with the world, with the things they love most a culture truly their own. As we go forward, this festivity is not only to entertain people but it is the avenue to respect and to value the culture of different tribes and to produce unity despite our differences.
