Activity Program:
All students participate in numerous group
based outdoor activity sessions based on
initiative, teamwork and leadership concepts.
This is done on a rotating basis. Activities are
dependent on weather conditions and may
include:
Leap of faith
Giant swing
Pole climb
Sky bridge
High ropes
Abseiling
Rock climbing
Flying fox
Initiative activities

Medication:
If any medication is required during this camp, please label it
carefully noting the students name and medication instructions.
This medication should be noted on the Student Medical Form
supplied in this package.
The medicine, apart from asthma
inhalers or Epipens, which should remain with the student, is to
be handed to the teacher nominated as in charge of medication
BEFORE boarding the bus.
It is also recommended that all students carry their asthma
medication/Epipens during all activities. This enables activities to
proceed with minimal disruptions, as well as ensuring that student
safety and wellbeing is maintained.

Gear and Transport:


Departure on Wednesday 27th May will be from Maribyrnong
College at 9.30am. Students should be at school at 8.50am. Rolls
will be marked and bags will be placed on the bus prior to
departure. Students should meet at the Sport Academy Foyer.
Arrival on Friday 29th May back at Maribyrnong College will be
at approximately 3.15pm. Students will need to organise their
own transport home.

Clothing and Equipment List:


General - At this time of year, daytime temperatures can be low
and the nights can fall close to zero. You can therefore rely on
needing a good supply of warm clothes. A waterproof coat is
vital as most of the activities can continue in light,
intermittent rain.

1 beanie
Sunscreen and sunhat

4 pairs of socks

Please note:
All items should be clearly named.
Older, comfortable, warm clothes are preferable to stylish,
impractical ones and as some activities require you to get
wet/dirty, the older the better!

Do not bring jewellery or other


valuables to camp.

Food:
Have a good breakfast before you leave home.
You may bring some snack foods to the camp
but soft drink is not permitted.

Diet:
Any special diet requirements such as allergies,
intolerances, vegetarian requirements etc.
should be noted on the Student Medical Form.

Warnings:
All families are encouraged to check on the
following prior to camp:
Students tetatus immunisation is
current
Membership of the Victorian Ambulance
Service is current.

Camp Rules:

All school rules apply (except for the wearing of school


uniform).
No student is to leave the campsite or be outside the
boundaries set by the teachers on arrival.
No student is to leave the activity site without a teachers
permission.
No student is permitted to enter the water or engage in
water based activities (e.g. swimming/ canoeing etc)
unless supervised by qualified teaching staff.
Students must use footwear whenever they leave the cabin
area.
Matches, lighters, lasers, cigarettes, alcohol or other drugs
are not permitted on camp - if students are found with
these items they will be confiscated and parents will be
asked to collect their child from the camp.
No student is to enter any cabin or room other than their
own (irrespective of gender).
No student is to place any other student, group of students
or camp leaders in a dangerous situation by their actions.
All students will obey a reasonable and lawful instruction
from a teacher, immediately and without argument.

All students will cooperate with staff and other students


and will endeavour to make the camp a very pleasant
experience for all.

THESE RULES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED; ANY


SERIOUS BREACH OF THE RULES WILL RESULT IN
THE STUDENT BEING RETURNED TO THEIR FAMILY
AT THE EARLIEST TIME THAT SAFETY PERMITS, AT
THE EXPENSE OF THEIR PARENTS OR GUARDIANS.
