Brainstorming (18 points)

Function: 3 points
Superhero/Villain: Description 4 points
Drawing: 5 points
Presentation/Participation: 6 points
Directions: Superheroes (or Arch Villains) of the Brain! You will choose a subcortical structure
or brain region from a hat and then create a super hero or arch villain character for that part of the
brain. Draw your superhero or arch villain on a separate sheet of paper. For example the
Occipital Lobe hero might have really big eyes and excellent vision because that region processes
visual information. You must explain your illustration and list the powers your hero has and why.
You must give your hero a name (preferably a name relating to their specialty). Note: be careful
not to name your hero or villain in a way that when made into an acronym spells something
embarrassing. Just think of the tragic example of the Amygdala Super Star. Remember to color
your illustration.
BRAIN STORMING
Presentation: You will be responsible for introducing the class to your superhero or villain.
You will describe the location of your brain part, its function, and the reasons your superhero/villain
has the powers that he/she does. You will also have to present a visual depiction your brain part
on the group art project when you present.
