AIR INGRESS ZONES

Some oxygen is available in coal as one of its

constituent. Additional oxygen requirement


is met from supply of atmospheric air to the
boiler through fans. The quantum of air so
calculatediscalledastheoreticalair.Inorder
to provide sufficient opportunity for fuel to
combine with requisite amount of oxygen,
within stipulated short residence time, it
