5G Networks & Smart Video Transmission 2014

To provide a solution towards meeting new and evermore stringent end-user requirements, mobile stakeholders
are already preparing the technology roadmap for next generation networks expected to be deployed by 2020
and beyond, which is collectively referred to as "5G". 5G has a broad vision and envisages design targets
that include, 10-lOOx peak rate date rate, lOOOx network capacity, lOx energy efficiency, and 10-30x lower
latency. Among all the services, wideo communication has grown considerably with the wide applications
including on-demand services, live multi-party conferencing, on-line video games, video surveillance, O T T
etc. Video in wireless multi-hop network is an extremely demanding service in terms of

provisioning,

security and delay guarantees.

T his workshop, inspired by the the GREEN- T and the SMARTVISION research initiative will bring
together academic and industrial stakeholders to in an effort to identify and discuss the maj or technical
challenges and recent results related to innovative solutions towards meeting the lOOOx 5G challenge, and
advance video multicast in wireless networks.

From all submissions, we have selected 7 papers to be
