Project Objectives

To position ESIC as an organization to serve the aspirations of the stakeholders in the 21st Century calling
for modernization and computerization in an inter-disciplinary manner

A single Unified Information System to automate all internal processes in ESIC to improve the efficiency &
transparency and accountability

 Infrastructure that would manage its available resources in a planned manner with certainty and speed.

 Maximize cooperative use of information and other resources for planning and decision making

 One Card accepted in all ESI hospitals and dispensaries across


India, IP and the family no longer constrained to use designated
hospital/dispensary linked to his/her home branch

 Card and the insurance no. remains valid even after change of
employer, no need to apply for new card

the departments

 Online registration for all the employers, no need to fill in papers


forms and submit manually

 Online filing of employee details, employers would be able to file


details online and check the status online

 Online contribution payment activated, employers are relieved


from physical payment at the banks through challans and then
submission of challan details physically

 Online filing of monthly returns, processing done automatically,


status or queries can be tracked and submitted online, physical
visits to ESIC office not needed anymore

Highlights : Pragati & Dhanwantri

 System Requirement Study (SRS) for Pragati & Dhanwantri started on


March 24th 2009 and completed in July 2009
 A team of 25+ Wipro consultants worked on the SRS; ESIC has
identified a team of representatives as Single Point of Contact
 Design and Development of the software is now in progress
 Pragati & Dhanwantri progress is as per plan
Highlights: Pehchan

 Pehchan card layout and hologram finalized and samples approved


 Pre enrollment, Enrollment and Biometric applications for Pehchan
along with enrollment kit tested and made ready
 Enrollment partner contracts signed; Partner Project teams identified

 Installation of desktops and peripherals as per allotted figure

 Power cabling and UTP cabling for the desktops

 Network connectivity to DC using router and switches through two

 Installation of IP Phones for voice communication within the ESIC

Pashan & Milap : Requirements

Requirements from SD for above implementation in the locations:


 Identification of location for placing desktops and peripherals; wall
mount rack (housing router & switch) –dimension of rack is 500 mm
height, 600 mm width, 500 mm depth

 Furniture to place the desktops and peripherals

 Space to keep the UPS (4 ft x 4 ft) in Dispensaries

 Readiness of site in terms of completion of flooring, painting etc.

 Proper earthing (N-E < 3V)

 Power availability for drilling purposes during cabling works

Pashan & Milap : Requirements

 Work permission during non-working hours (if reqd).

 Path of entry of telephone cable in the premises (for Leased Line


cable entry)/Permission for mounting wireless tower /Digging
permission for fibre cable entry (at specific locations)

 Material Receipt - Receive material, sign the material receipt


document

 Space for storing material till installation

 Ensure safe keeping of the IT equipment

 Installation Signoff - Sign the installation completion certificate for


bandwidth links, LAN cabling, switch, router. Desktop’s etc. installation

 Regular reviews with Project team to thrash out the bottlenecks
