Media Evaluation

How effective is the combination


of your main product and
ancillary tasks?
My digipak has a photo of the
artist on the front and back
cover as well as on the inside
sections, so I think this is an
effective way to target an
audience because they will
recognise the artist from the
video so this is why I used
images of her for my digipak
as well as for my magazine
advert.
The top image is a print
screen from our music video
and the image below is the
image I used for the back
cover of my digipak.
The artist is wearing the same
costume, make up and hair
style, so this is effective
because it has created
synergy because the audience
would recognise the mise-en-
scene as well as the artist
from the music video.
Colours The colours used for my digipak
are pinks and purples so this is
effective with the pop genre
because it is conforming to the
conventions of the Pop genre
such as it being girly. The artist is
also a female so it is more likely
to attract a female audience.

Our main product uses the pinks


and purples for the background
projector to incorporate a girly
theme as well as the artist having
bright make up on. The image
with the hearts in the background
also conforms to the Pop genre
with the hearts and the colour
being pink/red which is
associated with girls and also the
love theme that most Pop videos
usually use.
For my magazine advert I also used an
image of the artist again to create synergy
and ensure that it is recognisable.

I did have some difficulty with deciding what


image to have for my magazine advert
because I did not know whether to keep the
same image as I used for my album cover or
whether to change it. In the end I asked for
audience feedback and most of them
preferred this design as opposed to using
the same image because the layout of this
one looked more like a magazine advert.

I decided to keep the font the same as the


digipak as well as the colours again to create
synergy so that it would be recognisable to
the audience.
