    ENG BEAT: An Inter-Engineering Org Quiz Show


    Mechanics
    The contest is open to all academic student organizations under the College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology in UPLB. Organizations are allowed to send a maximum of three (3) representing teams. A team shall be consisted of three members. The members of the UPLB Engineering Society are not allowed to join the contest. A registration fee of Php 200.00 per team shall be collected. The quiz contest shall include questions about Engineering Science, specifically ENSC 10a, ENSC 11, ENSC 12, ENSC 13, ENSC 21 and ENSC 26, and CEAT Facts and Trivia. There will be two stages, the Eliminations and Face-off. Answers with wrong spelling and/or inappropriate or no units, for numerical solutions, will be considered as wrong answer. The judges decision is considered final and irrevocable. The Eliminations shall be composed of the Easy, Average and Difficult Round. Eliminations will have 24 questions in total, ten (10) for the Easy Round, Eight (8) for the Average Round and Six (6) for the Difficult Round. Every question will be read twice. Timer starts right after the second reading of each question. Fifteen (15) seconds will be allotted for each question in the Easy Round, 45 for Average and 75 for Difficult. Each team will have a proctor of their own to whom they will give their answer sheet in every question. The point system for the round shall be as follows:
    Round Easy Average Difficult Correct Answer +5 +10 +15 No Answer 0 0 -5 Wrong Answer 0 -5 -10

    Only the top two teams in the Eliminations Round shall proceed to the Face-Off Round. In case of ties, an additional question shall be asked and the first team to answer correctly shall move on to the next round. The Mechanics of the Face-Off Round shall be discussed during the contest proper. A consolation prize of Php1000 will be given to the losing team of the Face-Off Round. The Ultimate Champion shall receive a cash prize of Php5000 and medals. A Perpetual Trophy will also be awarded to the Ultimate Champion. A different Contract in acquiring the Perpetual Trophy should be agreed mutually by the host and the winning organizations.
