Greetings to the Troopers, Families, and friends of PRO. How time flies. It has already been a month since I have taken command of this great Battalion. I continue to be amazed by the outstanding achievements and efforts of the Professional Troopers. As I have stated in the past, I am truly honored to be a part of this great organization. I would like to thank the family and friends of the Battalion for their dedication and support to our Troopers. As we enter the Holiday season, Stacy and I want to extend our warmest greetings to each of you and your families. This is a special time of the year for the Jones family and is an opportunity to spend extra time with family and friends, reflect on the past year, and anticipate the opportunities that lie ahead. As you celebrate this holiday season, I ask that you take a moment to remember those Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines who are deployed around the world away from their families. We must also remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives in service to this great Nation, and our Wounded Warriors, who are fighting to recover from their injuries.
Helloooo PRO! We are well into the Holiday season and I wanted to take a quick minute to remind you to be safe as you travel or enjoy any activities that may involve risk. All of our Troopers deserve this block leave we are about to start, being with Family and loved ones during this time of year helps to raise spirits. After any time away from home, however long or short it may be, it is nice to relax. Too many times in our profession we are called upon to make a sacrifice of our precious time and the ones that suffer the most are the Families, so please enjoy your time off. Our past year has gone by so fast and the Troopers of PRO have done so many things to be proud of and
they have set the bar very high. Each time I see a senior leader from this Division they are congratulating this BN on our amazing achievements. These words mean a lot when a one or two star general says it, because they get to see much more of how the Army is progressing. When your Trooper returns from leave, back to the Center of the Universethe mighty 82nd Air- PRO9: CSM John borne Division, they will be challenged, I Condliffe promise. In accordance with true PRO passion, they will attack each day and perform above all expectations and continue to write another page of history for this fantastic Artillery Battalion. GOOOO PRO!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Paratroopers of Hurricane Battery! The Battery has accomplished a lot in the last 12 months. Team Hurricane has led the way during a very successful NTC Rotation at Ft. Irwin, California. This resulted in the Battalion setting the standard during our most recent deployment to the Maiwand district in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. During the deployment, Team Hurricane spearheaded the training and development of countless Afghan National Army Soldiers and Afghan Local Police. The team mentored and guided our counterparts in D-30 Howitzer training and Police mentorship, and participated in countless combat patrols. During these operations Team Hurricane executed 100% accuracy and attention to detail allowing no injuries during the entire deployment. The PSD ensured that the Commander could reach all points in the battle space with confidence. As the Battery transitioned back to Ft. Bragg NC, Team Hurricane focused on getting the Battalion back on the Garrison battle rhythm. The Battery worked diligently to reset all equipment and systems to prepare the unit for the Brigade, Battalion and Battery level Changes of Command. During this busy time of inventories and reset the Battery also began regaining their airborne proficiency; with jumps on Sicily, Holland and Luzon Drop Zones. Team Hurricane also had an opportunity to regain a footing in their home lives with a well deserved block leave. This let our Paratroopers reconnect with loved ones and recharge the batteries for the upcoming second quarter training cycles.

Alpha Battery Upcoming Events
As 2012 comes to an end, Alpha Battery would like to take this opportunity to thank all our families and friends who have supported us over the past year. It has been a fast-paced year that has seen the Battery re-organize as a maneuver element and hone their skills in an Intense Training Cycle and National Training Center rotation at Fort Irwin, CA. All the training and long hours led to our successful deployment and redeployment from the Zharay and Maiwand Districts in Southern Afghanistan. The Battery has performed well above the standard and none of it would have been possible without the love and support of our families and friends.
LT Johnson at Toy Drop with Thomas Keiser of the Panthers
December saw the departure of CPT Garrison as the Alpha Battery Commander and welcomed CPT Turner, as he and 1SG Martinez lead the battery through re-consolidation as a conventional Field Artillery Battery and regain the core competencies of Airborne Artillerymen. The next few months will see our Paratroopers return to their craft of delivering timely and effective fires for the 4TH Brigade Combat Team. It is an exciting time for the unit and the men that make it such an outstanding outfit. We look forward to continuing to update you on the success of the Battery and hope that 2013 continues to bless you and yours!

FRG Meeting : TBD early January 2013
Happy Holidays from Team Grizzly! We have had a fast and furyious 2012. The Company has accomplished a lot in the last year; a seven month deployment, resetting all of the Battalion equipment, sending Soldiers and NCOs to schools, and most importantly, spending time with our loved ones. As we approach 2013, Team Grizzly will prepare for Battalion and Brigade level training cycles, new Soldiers joining the team, tenured Soldiers leaving the team, and building core logistical competency. As our team resets and settles into the battle rhythm, we will ensure the Soldiers are receiving quality training in their job field as well as airborne operations. In the next year we hope to incorporate more FRG social functions and ensure our Soldiers and Family members are well connected.
