    I menon this because our Advent Season, coming at
    the end of the calendar year as it does, can oen be
    overcomeor taken over evenby all the fesvies
    and funcons that make the end of the year. Now,
    dont get me wrongI like a good party as much as
    the next person, but I wonder whether we can lose
    Advent in the process of celebrang the end of the
    year.

    The four Sundays of Advent are quite liturgically


    disnct from the Christmas Season that follows on
    from them, and while they are a me of preparaon
    for, and hope in, the coming of Jesus, we arent
    liming that coming to the incarnaon that we will
    celebrateduringChristmas:wearealsopreparingfor,
    andhopingin,thecomingofJesusattheendofme.

    EverymeImeetthegureofJohntheBapstduring
    Advent I nd myself asking myself a very dicult
    queson, one that always makes me just a lile
    uncomfortable:duringthisAdventSeason,andacross
    the rest of the year, how am I a voice crying in the
    wildernesspreparingthewayfortheLord?

    The new versions of the Weekday Missal have now
    been published, and it may be possible for the parish
    to place a bulk order (depending on demand). At this
    stage the cost is the region of $80.00 each. Please

    Christmas Parish Luncheon is on this Monday 10th
    December 2012 at 12 noon. Come along and pick up
    where we le o from the last Soup Day in August.
    Owing to the eorts of our faithful cooks and helpers
    it was agreed, we must have a Christmas Party. Even
    Santa Claus will be there again. Bring along a gi to
    approximate value of $5. Come and join in the fun.
