This quadruple silicon-gate CMOS analog switch is designed for 2-V to 5.5-V VCC operation. These switches are designed to handle both analog and digital signals. Each switch permits signals with amplitudes up to 5.5 V (peak) to be transmitted in either direction. Each switch section has its own enable-input control (C). A high-level voltage applied to C turns on the associated switch section. Applications include signal gating, chopping, modulation or demodulation (modem), and signal multiplexing for analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion systems. ORDERING INFORMATION

Stresses beyond those listed under absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress ratings only, and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under recommended operating conditions is not implied. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability. NOTES: 1. The input and output negative-voltage ratings may be exceeded if the input and output current ratings are observed. 2. This value is limited to 5.5 V maximum. 3. The package thermal impedance is calculated in accordance with JESD 51-7. 4. The package thermal impedance is calculated in accordance with JESD 51-5.

TA Operating free-air temperature 55 125 40 85 C With supply voltages at or near 2 V, the analog switch on-state resistance becomes very nonlinear. Only digital signals should be transmitted at these low supply voltages. NOTE 5: All unused inputs of the device must be held at VCC or GND to ensure proper device operation. 6-Dec-2006
NRND: Not recommended for new designs. Device is in production to support existing customers, but TI does not recommend using this part in a new design. PREVIEW: Device has been announced but is not in production. Samples may or may not be available. OBSOLETE: TI has discontinued the production of the device.

Eco Plan - The planned eco-friendly classification: Pb-Free (RoHS), Pb-Free (RoHS Exempt), or Green (RoHS & no Sb/Br) - please check http://www.ti.com/productcontent for the latest availability information and additional product content details. TBD: The Pb-Free/Green conversion plan has not been defined. Pb-Free (RoHS): TI's terms "Lead-Free" or "Pb-Free" mean semiconductor products that are compatible with the current RoHS requirements for all 6 substances, including the requirement that lead not exceed 0.1% by weight in homogeneous materials. Where designed to be soldered at high temperatures, TI Pb-Free products are suitable for use in specified lead-free processes. Pb-Free (RoHS Exempt): This component has a RoHS exemption for either 1) lead-based flip-chip solder bumps used between the die and package, or 2) lead-based die adhesive used between the die and leadframe. The component is otherwise considered Pb-Free (RoHS compatible) as defined above. Green (RoHS & no Sb/Br): TI defines "Green" to mean Pb-Free (RoHS compatible), and free of Bromine (Br) and Antimony (Sb) based flame retardants (Br or Sb do not exceed 0.1% by weight in homogeneous material)
