William Donley Elementary School, East Lansing, Michigan Aug. 2012-May 2013 th Grade Level: 4 Year Long Internship Worked in a focus school setting with a large socio-economic gap amongst students. Taught 22 students including learners with Autism, ADHD, hearing disabilities, and processing disorders. Used and adapted multiple curriculums with Common Core State Standards (CCSS) including Everyday Math, Reading Street, and Battle Creek Science. Created standards based lessons using the CCSS and Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs). Designed and taught unit plans in the core content areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Designed pre-assessments and formative assessments to identify student learning needs and to increase student achievement. Differentiated lessons, group activities, and assignments to meet students academic, social, physical, and linguistic needs. Collaborated with Title 1 teachers, school social worker, and school resource room teacher to help students meet academic and behavioral goals. Administered and assessed data gained from Math Computation (M-Comp), Math Concepts and Applications (M-CAP), and AIMSweb. Planned and participated in the Japanese model of lesson study with other colleagues.

Conducted spring parent-teacher conferences and co-facilitated fall parent-teacher conferences. Tutored individual students in mathematics before school. Designed a school wide behavior expectation video for students. Volunteered and planned after school events such as Math Night and Book Bingo.
