1 lb. ground beef 4 tbsp. chili powder 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar 1 lg. chopped onion 1 green pepper, chopped 2 cans tomatoes 1 c. water 2 tbsp. salad oil 2 tbsp. flour 2 cans pinto beans or kidney beans Brown ground beef; add chili powder, salt, sugar, onion, green pepper, tomatoes, and water. Simmer until all is cooked. Add rest of ingredients, mixing flour with liquid from beans for thickening. NOTE: Great recipe for a cold winter day - double the recipe and Invite some folks for dinner!
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder Cook onion and green pepper slightly in the oil. Add ground beef and cook until meat loses its red color. Add beans, tomato sauce, salt, chili powder. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.
2 tsp. sugar 2 tbsp. vinegar 1 can tomato sauce 2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. water 1 c. catsup Brown the ground beef, pepper, and onion slowly then add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 20-30 minutes. Can be frozen.
1 1/2 lbs. ground round or chuck 1 can tomato soup 1 can tomato sauce 1/3 c. ketchup 1 onion chopped (1 lg. or 2 sm.) 1 1/2 tsp. salt Dash of pepper 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 sm. can water Mix meat and liquids well. Add water, bring to a boil, stirring often. Turn heat to low and cook for 2 hours. Keep well stirred, add more salt and chili powder if needed.
