Boiler Preservation
: - Preservation of Utility steam Boiler Present System: - Presently there are two modes of power plant operation: -
1. 5 GT +5 HRSG+ 1 Boiler 2. 4 GT + 4 HRSG + 3 Boiler +1 STG The operation of either option is based on fuel price and the condition of availability of equipment. During the first mode of operation three boilers will be idle and in the second mode of operation one Boiler remains kept idle while the other three are in service. Constraint: As per the standard practice, if the boiler is kept idle for more than one week the preservation of boiler is must to avoid any corrosion from inside the water tube. But in present system the preservation of boiler is not possibly due to non-availability of separate hydrazine dosing system. Proposed System: It is proposed to provide one trolley mounted pump along with dosing tank, by which the preservation of any boiler can be done. The detailed sketch is attached herewith.
