It contains information on hardware requirements, interconnections, and details of how to program the system. The specifications given in this manual were correct at the time of printing; advances mean that some may have changed in the meantime.

Limited Warranty
DIGITAL-LOGIC AG warrants the hardware and software products it manufactures and produces to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year following the date of shipment from DIGITAL-LOGIC AG, Switzerland. This warranty is limited to the original purchaser of product and is not transferable. During the one year warranty period, DIGITAL-LOGIC AG will repair or replace, at its discretion, any defective product or part at no additional charge, provided that the product is returned, shipping prepaid, to DIGITAL-LOGIC AG. All replaced parts and products become property of DIGITAL-LOGIC AG. Before returning any product for repair, customers are required to contact the company. This limited warranty does not extend to any product which has been damaged as a result of accident, misuse, abuse (such as use of incorrect input voltages, wrong cabling, wrong polarity, improper or insufficient ventilation, failure to follow the operating instructions that are provided by DIGITAL-LOGIC AG or other contingencies beyond the control of DIGITAL-LOGIC AG), wrong connection, wrong information or as a result of service or modification by anyone other than DIGITAL-LOGIC AG. The MICROSPACE-PCX is a miniaturized PC system incorporating the major elements of a PC/AT compatible computer. The green Power indicator is located in the front of the computersystem [MIL-STD-1472D].
All connectors (plugs and receptacles) are coded and marked to prevent insertion of the wrong plug into a receptacle or other mating unit [MIL-STD-1472D]. Depending of the mounted replicator unit, the connectors are PC-Style, DSUB or MIL versions. The male connectors are deenergized when disconnected [MIL-STD-454M].

Currently there are two types of TVS devices integrated in the computersystem for the 12/24V automotive systems to protect against load dump: silicon-based single-junction Zener diodes and zinc-oxide-based metal oxide varistors (MOV). All interface connectors are permanently in contact to the ground (earth). The computersystem must be wired to a ground system with a ground wire (colors green with yellow strips). [NFPA 7087]. The ground must have the capacity to safely conduct any current that might be imposed theron. The ground is wired separate from the electrical ground. The leakage current is: 5 uA at 28 V The ground cable must be separatated to the chassis by a nutstone.

The power on/off switch does not cut all power of the complete equipmement. In the OFF-state is a microcontoller still working, to supervise the wakeup events (switch, remote-on, wake-on-LAN, wake-onevents) [MIL STD 454M] The system is consuming a power of approx. 10mW in the poweroff state. The power switch is clearly identified and located on the front panel [MIL-STD-545M] The power switch is protected from accidental contact, which causes a power on/off. The power switch must be activated over a defined periode 1-3sec. When the system is opened, the replicator unit must be removed and in this way no external power supply is available. Take care, that the internally installed batteries are even connected to the system.

The computer system can be ordered with an internal accumulator for working without a power supply over a short time of several minutes. The battery power is influenced from different aspects:

Fire, sparks, naked lights and smoking are prohibited: Avoid causing sparks when dealing with cables and electrical equipment, and beware of electrostatic discharges. Avoid shortcircuits.
Corrosive hazard: Battery acid is highly corrosive, therefore: Wear protective gloves and eye protection. Do not tilt battery, acid can escape from the degassing openings or vents.
First aid: Rinse off acid splashed in the eyes immediately for several minutes with clear water. Then consult a doctor immediately. Neutralize acid splash on skin or clothes immediately with acid neutralizer (soda) or soap suds and rinse with plenty of water. If acid is consumed, consult a doctor immediately.
Warning note: Do not place the computer system with the batteries in direct daylight without protection. Discharged batteries can freeze up, therefore store in an area free from frost.

RF Safe Approved Cell Phone Antennas when used in a car or truck, the roof acts as a ground plane for the antenna. To get the most from your antenna it should be centered on the roof without obstructions. Once the antenna is centered on the ground plane (Roof of vehicle) guide the rf cable inside the car by opening the door and choosing a path to where you will be placing your cell phone. Suggestions are running the antennas wire above the sun vision and across the rear view mirror, down the center of the dash to a phone holder or on the seat at arms reach! This antenna can be changed to another car in less than a minute or even taken into the office or home for added performance and safety! A Ground Plane Is Needed! Most ALL external mounted antennas for cell phones are made to be used on a flat metal surface which provides a ground plane for the antenna. If you plan to use your antenna away from your car, the antenna should be mounted on a flat metal surface such as a filing cabinet, or a metal sheet about 8"x8" to 12"x12" for maximum performance.

By using a "Hardwire Car Antenna Kit, you move the RF radiation outside the car and away from you. Please note that glass mounted antenna kits cannot protect you from the radiation because the RF radiation can come through the window glass.

The computer system must be connected to earth, with a separat earth cable from the case to an earthpoint. The high voltage (more than 10kV) may be overcome from the antennas (bad weather), standing outsinde of the operators room or vehicle. Be sure, that the earth is connected to the vehicle ground or the the earth of the environment. The antenna must have an adequacy lightning protection (NFPA 7087). If antenna acts as an aerial terminal, conductivity must equal or better that of #8 AWG solid copper. The joints must be mechanically strong & corrosion resistant. The resistance of the antenna joints must be less than 0.002Ohms. The supply input is protected against overvoltage by fast transient suppressor diodes SMBJ28A. In the BIOS, the temperatur level of the thermal protection of the CPU may be selected and enabled. If enabaled, the systems will reduce the CPU-Clock automatically, if the temperature rises above the defined limit. Do not cover the device with paper, textiles or other objects. This disables the passive cooling (cooling rips). The minimum space between the cooling rips and the next object is 50mm on each side. Make sure to allow enough airflow to the computersystem, when the device is assembled. Protect the computersystem from solar radiation or other thermal energy exposure. Do never place the running computer system in a closed case or box. Otherwise the inside air will heat up over the maximum temperature and the system will be destroied. Clean the surface of the computer system from dust, oil and other isolating materials, to prevent a reduction of the cooling efficiency. 26

The computer system must be fixed with a minimum of 8 screws within the 2 or 4 nuts. It is very dangerous to place the device on the seat of a car, while driving. In case of an accident, the device will hit the window or a passenger. Do never drill some mounting holes into the chassis of the computersystem. The inside electronics or harddisk may be damaged. Use only the mounting nuts for mechanic assemlby. The computer system can be installed in standard direction (mounting bolts on bottom side). The maximum tilt angle is 0 ( -/+10 ). Use shock absorber for mounting the computer system into a vehicle.

The cover of the computer system integrates a transparent glas. To ensure your safety, there is thermally pre-stressed, non-shatterable glass for pressurized applications assembled, for special mechanical loads. If the glas should break, only the cover must be replaced. Do not repair the glas with a normal window glas. Do not open a harddisk, since the disk platter is a glass media and may broken.

The computer system is protected from spray water with a sealed case and sealed connetors. The frontside with the operating components is protected against humidity by a cover. The cover must be closed all the time, if humidity or spray water is applied or it is expected to be applied. Only the connectors of the replicator R4 are fully protected against water (IP65). The replicator types R1-R3 must be protected with a watershield from direct spraying with water.

Depending of the application, it may be useful to start the computer automatically when the voltage on the powerinput is rising, without any operation at the power switch. To enable the AutoRUN-Mode, there are a programming sequence with the MUTE and the SLEEP switch along the computer is running.
Enable AutoRUN-Mode Programming sequence: Start the computer (by pressing the ON-switch for at least 2 min) Press the MUTE-switch while and simultan 2x the SLEEP-switch After the computer has been switched off, it will start automatically when the power penetrates to the supply connector. DC-Powerinput Specifications
Nominal DC-Powerinput voltage
The nominal DC-powerinput is within the range of: 10Volt to 28Volt. That means the device may be used in 12V or 24V battery supplies as used in boats, cars and trucks. The DC-input is protected with an internal fuse from overcurrent ! To prevent from high voltage spikes there are different voltage supressor diodes integrated. Short spikes up to 100V may be limited to 28V, to protect the internal electronic components.

Our test showed that with most of the cars the voltage is not falling below 7.5 volts while starting the engine.

USB Host controller functional description: PIIX4 contains a USB Host Controller (HC). The Host Controller includes the root hub with two USB ports. This permits connection of two USB peripheral devices directly to PIIX4 without an external hub. If more devices are required, an external hub can be connected to either of the built-in ports. The USBs PCI configuration registers are located in function 2, PCI configuration space. The PIIX4 Host Controller completely supports the standard Universal Host Controller Interface (UHCI) and thus, takes advantage of the standard software drivers written to be compatible with UHCI. Figure 9 shows a conceptual view of a USB system. UHCI consists of two partsHost Controller Driver (HCD) and Host Controller (HC). The Host Controller interfaces to the USB system software in the host via the HCD. The HCD software manages the Host Controller operation and is responsible for scheduling the traffic on USB by posting and maintaining transactions in system memory. HCD is part of the system software and is typically provided by the operating system vendor. HCD provides the software layer between the PIIX4s Host Controller and the USBD software layer (also located in the operating system). The UHCIs HCD software interprets requests from the USBD and builds Frame List, Transfer Descriptor, Queue Head, and data buffer data structures for the Host Controller. The data structures are built in system memory and contain all necessary information to provide end-to-end communication between client software in the host and devices on the USB. The PIIX4s Host Controller moves data between system memory and devices on the USB by processing these data structures and generating the transaction on USB. The Host Controller executes the schedule lists generated by HCD and reports the status of transactions on the USB to HCD. Command execution includes generating serial bus token and data packets based on the command and initiating transmission on USB. For commands that require the Host Controller to receive data from the USB device, the Host Controller receives the data and then transfers it to the system memory pointed to by the command. The UHCIs HCD provides sufficient commands and data to keep ahead of the Host Controller execution and analyzes the results as the commands are completed. For additional information on the functionality of PIIX4 USB Host Controller, refer to the Universal Host Controller Interface (UHCI) Design Guide, Revision 1.1 available from Intel Literature Center with order number 297650- 002. Note that the UHCI Design Guide refers to USB ports 1 and 2. The PIIX4 USB ports are ports 0 and 1 respectively. Additions to the PIIX4 USB interface beyond UHCI, revision 1.1 include support for over-current detection on USB ports 0 and 1. If an over-current condition is detected on a USB port, that port will be disabled. Bits 10:11 in each Port Status and Control register are used to report over-current conditions.

When choosing cables and connectors for LVDS it is important to remember: 1. Use controlled impedance media. The cables and connectors you use should have a differential impedance of about 100. They should not introduce major impedance discontinuities that cause signal reflections. 2. Balanced cables (twisted pair) are usually better than unbalanced cables (ribbon cable, multiconductor) for noise reduction and signal quality. Balanced cables tend to generate less EMI due to field canceling effects and also tend to pick up electromagnetic radiation as common-mode (not differentialmode) noise, which is rejected by the receiver. 3. For cable distances < 0.5m, most cables can be made to work effectively. For distances 0.5m < d < 10m, CAT 3 (Category 3) twisted pair cable works well and is readily available and relatively inexpensive. Other types of cables may also be used as required by a specific application. This includes twin-ax cables built from separate pairs and ribbon style constructions, which are then coiled. Cabling suggestions: As described above, try to use balanced cables (twisted pair, twin-ax, or flex circuit with closely coupled differential traces). LVDS was intended to be used on a wide variety of media. The exact media is not specified in the LVDS Standard, as it is intended to be specified in the referencing standard that specifies the complete interface. This includes the media, data rate, length, connector, function, and pin assignments. In some applications that are very short (< 0.3m), ribbon cable or flex circuit may be acceptable. In boxto-box applications, a twisted pair or twin-ax cable would be a better option due to robustness, shielding and balance. Whatever cable you do choose, following the suggestions below will help you achieve optimal results.

Silicon Images Transition Minimized Differential Signaling is an electrical standard used to transmit digital data to a display device. The transition minimization is achieved by implementing an advanced encoding algorithm that converts 8 bits of data into a 10-bit transition minimized, DC balanced character. The signal is optimized to reduce Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), which allows for faster signal transfer rates with increased accuracy. The differential circuitry in TMDS allows complimentary limited amplitude signals to be transmitted over twisted pair wires instead of more expensive coaxial cable. The TMDS link architecture consists of a TMDS transmitter that encodes and serially transmits a data stream over the TMDS link to a TMDS receiver. Video and sync information are serialized and sent over three sets of twisted pair wires, one set for red, green and blue data channels. An additional pair of wires is used to transmit a clock signal for timing. At the other end, the TMDS receiver synchronizes itself to character boundaries in each of the serial data streams, the transmitted signal is recovered and decoded. A fundamental principle of physics known as the "Copper Barrier" limits the amount of data that can be squeezed through a single copper wire. The limit is a bandwidth of about 165MHz, which equates to 165 million pixels per second. A single TMDS link has a bandwidth of 165 MHz, which enough to display resolutions of up to 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) at 60Hz. DVI, which is the first standard specifically written for the TMDS digital interface allows for up to two TMDS links, a total of 6 channels sharing a single clock, to be integrated into a single DVI connector to support a minimum bandwidth of 330 mega pixels per second. That is enough bandwidth to enable digital displays to reach resolutions of up to 2048 x 1536 (QXGA).

The DVI specification does not supports hot plug and play of display devices. DVI also supports the VESA Display Data Channel (DDC) and Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) specifications, which enable the display, graphics adapter, and computer to communicate and automatically configure the system to support the different features available in the display. EDID is a standard data format for information such as display vendor, resolution and timing capabilities. A purely digital connection allows projector manufacturers to design products, which provide the sharpest, clearest image possible, without the need for any fine sync or complex pixel clock adjustments.

Accuracy Accuracy is a function of the entire Navstar GPS system and geometry of the satellites at the time of measurement. In general, individual receivers have very little influence on the accuracy provided. Navigational accuracies using Full Accuracy C/A Code (SA Off) and the SPS (SA On) are shown in Table 3. Description: The FM1216 front-end is designed to receive both TV and FM stereo signals in the PC Multimedia environment. The units are available with separate 75 inputs for TV and FM broadcast reception. The input connectors available are either standard phono or IEC type (female for TV, male for FM radio). The tuning, bandswitching and antenna selection are made through the I2C-bus. The front-end covers the TV bands from 48.25 MHz to 855.25 MHz. The FM band covers the standard 87.50 MHz to 108.00 MHz. An RDS decoder can be connected to the AF-MPX output. The FM1216 meets the input immunity and radiation requirements of CENELEC. The FM1216 consists of a TV tuner, an FM radio tuner and an IF section, all designed on a single PCB. The front-end is assembled in a metal housing made of a rectangular tinplated steel frame, with front and rear covers, which have soldered contacts to the frame. The two phono or IEC antenna connectors (female for TV, male for FM radio) are mounted on one side of the frame for the TV/FM signal inputs. All other connections are made via pins at the bottom. The TV IF section uses an intercarrier SAW filter, followed by a true-synchronous vision IF demodulator (PLL) IC. The analog AFC voltage is fed to the 5-level A/D converter in the PLL tuning IC, so that the AFC status can be read via the I2C-bus. In the FM radio mode, the level detector and AFT functions are provide for the autosearch routines. The level detector and AFT status can be read from the A/D bits in the status-byte. The mute function is also provided to suppress the audio output signal, if required. The tuner AGC for both TV and FM radio operation, is generated with a novel AGC detector which measures the IF signal level directly at the tuner IF output pins. As opposed to the conventional AGC detector, this new circuit allows a higher take-over level and offers superior immunity against tuner overload. The demodulation of the TV sound and FM radio IF (10.70 MHz) is done with a PLL demodulation circuit contained in the IF IC. In the FM radio mode, the multiplexed AF signal is then channelled to a stereo decoder IC which extracts the left/right analog signals. The multiplexed audio signal is also available at pin 25 to support RDS or BTSC implementations. The second IF sound output is provided to connect external (analog 2 carrier or digital) stereo processing.

TV/FM Tunerprogram
TV/FM tuner is a program based on multimedia properties of the MPCX board with built-in tuner FM1216(FM1216ME). Program works in two modes: TV and FM. button allows to switch between TV and FM modes.

Note: These functions are accessible only with correctly installed Slilicon Motion video input driver.
Caption buttons: Button shows the TV picture on the full screen. For setting normal size, its enough to doubleclick on the TV picture or press ESC on the keyboard. Buttons and are minimize and close a program accordingly. Hotkeys: Keyboard arrows Up and Down are used for listing the TV channels. ESC key allows to return from full screen to normal mode.

Driver installations: a.) The program is intended for showing the simple use of video input. At the first start up of the program, it is necessary to have a driver available, which supports the capturing feature. Open dialog window Settings(the button ) and choose the driver in the drop-down list. If no driver is mentioned, then its necessary to close the program and to install a driver, using the Windows standard driver installation procedure. Main window buttons assignment:
Captures single frame from the video-input and copies it to standard Windows clipboard (Ctrl+C).
Captures single frame and saves it as standard Windows graphics file (bmp format) (Alt+F).
Captures video-stream and saves it as standard Windows video file (avi format). To stop capture, press the ESC key or press the button again (Alt+G).
Plays captured video file. Pressing this button while playing stops the playing and allows you to look at any frame of the video file, using the slider under the toolbar (Alt+P).

This dialog allows you to adjust picture parameters, select input video channel and set the timing values for the video capturing process. The buttons Video Format, Video Source and Video Display calls appropriated dialogs for changing some parameters of the picture format such as Brightness, Contrast, image dimensions and some others. The button Compression calls a dialog of video compression. This dialog box lets you specify software compression techniques during a capture session. Because software compression requires processing time, it is generally inappropriate to use it during a real-time capture, except at very slow frame rates. The RLE compression method, which requires similar processing time during capture and playback, is the only recommended method during real-time capture. Options: Preview. Sets the display area to display an image stored in the frame buffer after capture. Overlay. Sets the display area to display the video-input signal from the hardware source (before cature). Capture Video Sequence: This lets you specify parameters for the capture session and the video sequence, including the video and audio format. There are the following options: Frame Rate. Sets the number of frames per second to capture. More frames per second provide a better quality but require more storage space and a faster data-transfer rate. The maximum is determined by the capabilities of your capture system. Enable Capture Time Limit. Specifies whether to capture for a preset length of time. If this option is selected, you can type a time-limited value in the Seconds box. Capture Audio. Specifies whether to capture audio while capturing video, ensuring close synchronization between the audio and video tracks. Capture File: A file created on the hard disk for the purpose of storing captured video and audio data.

A video source for real-time capture (such as a video camera or video recorder) provides an uninterrupted stream of information to the capture hardware. The capture hardware copies each frame of the video sequence (and each portion of audio) and transfers it to the disk before the next frame of data enters the capture hardware. A video frame contains one image of the video sequence. Real-time capture demands a fast computer and hard disk. The computer must process and store the incoming video frame before the next frame is received in the capture board. If the system gets slower, during capture, frames of video data are dropped (lost). Note During capture, your hard disk might not keep up with the frame rate you specified. If this occurs, the program inserts blank frames where it is unable to store frame data. When the capture session is completed, the program reports the number of blank or dropped frames. Dropped frames use minimal storage space (8 bytes) and do not adversely affect audio/video synchronization. Note: Using enough fast frame rate on a slow computer, will might cause a crash or hanging your system.

SmiVCap driver was tested with amcap.exe, vidcap32.exe and GraphEdit.exe. Recording of video is possible only in Overlay/Preview mode, when video port is opened. SmiVCap driver transfer video stream in YUV4:2:2(with swapped bytes) mode, but Windows convert this stream on the fly, so avi file records normally and its possible to watch it with Media Player. SmiVCap driver supports now 3 Color Space modes: YUV422, RGB555 and RGB24. Capture size is fixed 320*240 pixels. Maximal frame rate is about 15 fps(YUV mode), driver provides software color conversion in RGB modes and these modes are not recommended for video recording, because of processor overloading in real-time mode. Single frame capturing is available in RGB555 and RGB24 modes. Video processor features, such as Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and Hue are available via standard WFV functions or in Dialog window. Driver supports 3 video inputs. Composite Video In N3 is normally connected to the tuner controller. Tuner.exe: The size of preview window is scalable, this allows to use Tuner program in Full Screen mode. Tuner features are not implemented into capture driver, and Tuner.exe program uses direct access to the tuner registers. Read more in tuner.hlp. VideoGrabber.exe: Microsoft WFV is allowed to install any video compressors. For example, its possible to install DivX video compressor and set it in Settings Compression for VideoGrabber. Video file will be recorded with assigned codec. Without video compression, computer spend a time while recording a data to the hard drive. Use codec, which compress the data on the fly in computer memory we lose a processor time for compression, but we win a time in recording onto hard drive. Thus optimal combination of compression coefficients and required quality will provide efficient video recording.

But it also fit with some additional nice features, which allow to choose the display output, the display rotation or to enter stretch mode, allowing for example a 640x480 resolution to be extended to a full LCD 800x600 display. The following sections show the different features together with a small summary of the different display modes which can be set.

To be able to use Dual-Display-Mode, the nominal resolution of the DVI-monitor must be set (regulator screen area), see also specification. If the set resolution does not correspond to the connected DVImonitor, it is not possible to set the Dual-Display function (DualApp = ON) in the under menue (Advanced). Furter on the colour depth mus be adjusted to 16bit (Colours) to guarantee enough video memory for both connected displays. Figure 8.4.3a: Using dual-display mode

An EEPROM is present on the design storing some important information about PCI configuration and a global unique ID that is required by all 1394 device to be fully compliant. The MSMW104+ EEPROM is already programmed with the right file to configure PCI registers specific to TI TSB43AB22 device. Customer could need to reprogram the EEPROM, either because it has been damaged or to provide a new ID. The following steps are needed to establish a connection to 1394 devices. A. The device needs first to be plugged into the dedicated FW port. B. 1394 bus supports plug and play feature, once plugged in, the device will be detected. C. You can be prompted to install a driver for the connected device. Please use the provided drivers from the manufacturer. The device drivers may also be in the default driver set from your operating system and you may need the operating system source. D. Once the driver be installed, you should normally be able to communicate with the device. The following figures show the installation process of a compliant IEE1394 hard-disk under Windows 2000. This is only intended as an example of IEE1394 device under Windows. As said before, your device may need drivers which are not directly provided by the OS. In that case, you will be prompted to use the available manufacturer drivers.

ESSCFG.EXE allows the user to configure the ESS sound chip with a base address, a DMA chanel, an IRQ channel, and an address for the MPU-401 port, if a wavetable is supported by the sound card. Create a directory C:\network on your harddisk. Copy the programs and drivers of x:\DRIVERS\NETWORK\INTEL\82559ER\ onto your HD.
Make sure, that the following directories are in the directory c:\network: x:\drivers\network\intel\82559er\drivers x:\drivers\network\intel\client\dos
Create a *.bat file in the route C:\, with the name startpro.bat. The file has the following contents: c: cd network cd drivers lsl e100bodi ipxodi cd.. cd dos vlm cd \ Start the file startpro.bat.
Update the driver from the Intel PRO/10+PCI device in the device manager. Choose the option select list with drivers. Choose the Intel 8255xx based Ethernet PCI Adapter(10/100) . Go on. If you get a failure report, press ok. If the PC hangs switch off / on the power. After reboot you must activate the Intel 8255xx driver in the device manager.
Please note, that one has to write the whole directory path, when NT asks for the new driver installation. Windows NT does not search automatically for a new directory. Installing another driver: Select the path, where the driver is located, especially where the OEM- inf file is located. E.g. on our DLAG- CD x:\drivers\network\intel

Hibernate If the hibernate mode is active, the contents of the RAM will be saved to the hard drive and the system will be powered off. After turning on the computer again, the content of the RAM will be restored from the hard drive. Suspend (Standby): After entering the sleep mode, the computer turns off several non essential components. By pressing the Sleep button again, the computer is ready again within seconds.

Since the LVDS Display (XGA, 1024 x 768) and the WLAN Display from PANASONIC (SVGA, 800x600) work with different resolutions, the windows resolution must be reduced to SVGA, as soon the WLAN Display from PANASONIC is connected. In this moment, the LVDS-Screen is not longer full format on the screen. In the simultaneous mode (LVDS and WLAN-Display) , the SMI721-Controlprogram allows to enable the stretch function for the LVDS-Display. With this function the image of 800x600 pixel will be stretched on the full 1024x768 screen.

Function description: This function asks the internal receive buffer, if some CAN messages are available. If yes, the AX register returns the number of available messages. Function description: This function receives one CAN message from the internal buffer, if at least one message was in the buffer. After initialising, the driver receives all incoming CAN messages automatically and stores them in the dynamic buffer. This feature prevents the application program to interrupt real-time if the CAN message was received. The capacity of the internal buffer is enough for memorising 1000 messages. Register definition before calling the INT61h: AH = 03 Function request number AL = undefined ES : SI = Pointer to the first byte of the CAN message buffer, that may be used as a target to transfer the current message. Register definition after returning from INT61h: AX = Number of the CAN message. They are available, after transferring the current message. Pressing of <Esc> changes to the POST screen and activates one of two functions:
In case multi boot is installed the boot process is running to the end of POST, where the Boot First Menu will be shown: Loading of an operating system of a bootable free selectable carrier. Go into setup. Leaving the Boot First Menu (with <ESC>) and loading of the operating system in the defined sequence. If multi boot is not installed the process is carried out without query.

Key <F2>
Through pressing of key <F2> during the boot process change will be made onto POST screen and the BIOS setup will be displayed.

During the boot process the BIOS produces status messages in the shape of data onto Port 80H and acoustically by internal beeper in case the screen is not initialized.

For Win95 Installed O/S set <Win95>, for all other operating systems to position <other>. The BIOS requires this information for the identification of PnP under Windows 95.
Description Disabled activates the mouseport and sets free the IRQ12 for the ISA Bus. The ATX Support will be deactivated which means that the voltages wont automatically deactivated during shut down. The ATX Support will be switched on whereby the system can be switched off on software base after shutting down.
