For each activity, enter the following:Field 1. Activity 2 Number per week per student 3. Number of Occurrences Description Type of activity = lecture, seminar, practical etc This equates to how many activities the student needs to take in each week of the semester. Please insert 1 if this applies in taking a lecture for a certain number of weeks during the semester. The default is 1 This is associated with the week pattern. It will count the number of weeks you have selected. If the number per week per student is 2, it will double count the weeks. If the number per week per student is 4 it will count the number per week and times it by 4. Increments of hour periods. For timetabling purposes, one hour is scheduled as 50 minutes Indicate whether it is a centrally (to be booked by timetabling office) or locally (to be booked by timetabling based upon your requirements). Locally scheduled activities need to state in the special requirements field, the day, time and local room being used Must be entered for all activities EXCEPT for Lecture type activity. The default for a lecture is taken from the expected number of students. In combination with the expected number of students, the number of groups are automatically calculated in the timetable software, even though the activity is only entered in Saturn once.

Description How many times the activity will take place in each week (taken from the previous screen) If each student should attend one two-hour seminar in a week, then that is what should be entered. If the seminar needs to run four times a week to accommodate the number of students, the timetabling software will calculate this from the expected number of students, and the group size entered against each activity If each student should attend two lectures per week, one activity should be created with the number per week inserted as two This is associated with the week pattern. It will count the number of weeks you have selected. If the number per week per student is 2, it will double count the weeks. The duration of the activity Is the activity timetabled centrally or locally (in-house) How many students in the group - (taken from the previous screen) This field is where you input the modules codes that are taught at the same time and same location How many weeks in the semester the activity is taking place. If the activity is taken place every other week, there are boxes to select odd weeks/even weeks

Description What facilities you require for your activity to take place. Please be as accurate as possible. The right hand box will show you the items you have selected Type of room = seminar room, language lab, computer room etc A text field to describe any other RELEVANT information required for the activity i.e. Preferred day and time (this is not a guarantee that you will get this), Cluster activities e.g. Schedule activities over a two day period Staff availability (part time), Which staff member is taking which seminar/tutorial if there are numerous staff allocated to one activity Any disability issues Local activity information room/day/time Reading week information Do not schedule at a certain time (i.e. 5pm on Friday) Avoid lunch time slots Clashes with other optional modules Select which staff member is teaching this activity
