Garden Necklace

= seed bead = green crystal = pink crystal = pearl

MaterialS (for a 16-inch necklace, not including clasp)


 axed Nymo or C-Lon thread, size D, W or 6 lb. FireLine A  pproximately 300 size 11/0 seed beads or Delica beads  Approximately 80 4mm glass pearls  Approximately 63 green 4mm bicone crystals  Approximately 40 rose 4mm bicone crystals clasp

Step 1: You will have to add thread while creating this necklace so start with a length you feel comfortable working with and thread your needle. String a green crystal, a seed bead, a green crystal, a seed bead, a green crystal and a seed bead. Leaving a 14- to 16-inch tail for attaching one end of the clasp, tie the beads in a circle with a double knot:

Step 2: Go back through the green crystal, the seed bead and the green crystal:

Step 8: Continue back down through the seed bead, the pearl, the seed bead, the pink crystal and the seed bead:

Step 3: String a seed bead, a pearl, a seed bead, a pearl and a seed bead. Go around and back through the green crystal you exited at the end of the last step: Step 9: String 3 seed beads. Go around and back through the seed bead you exited at the end of the last step:

Step 4: Go back through these same beads to give your necklace some added strength: Note: If you dont want the picot edging, just skip this step. Step 10: Go back up through the pink crystal, the seed bead, the pearl, the seed bead and the pearl (all highlighted in RED):

Step 5: Continue back up through the seed bead and the pearl:

Step 6: String a seed bead, a pearl, a seed bead, a pink crystal, a seed bead, a pink crystal and a seed bead. Go around and back through the pearl you exited at the end of the last step:

Step 11: String a seed bead, a green crystal, a seed bead, a pearl and a seed bead. Go around and back through the pearl you exited at the end of the last step:

Step 7: Go back through these same beads to give your necklace some added strength:

Step 13: Go back up through the seed bead and the green crystal:

Step 17: To attach one end of the clasp, go through the seed bead next to the green crystal that you exited at the end of the last step (highlighted in RED). String three seed beads. Go through the clasp and then back through the last seed bead that you just strung:

Step 14: String a seed bead, a green crystal, a seed bead, a green crystal and a seed bead. Go around and back through the green crystal you exited at the end of the last step: Step 18: String two more seed beads. Go back through the seed bead you went through at the beginning of Step 17 (highlighted in RED): Step 15: Go back through these same beads to give your necklace some added strength:

Circle round through the seed beads and the clasp twice to reinforce it. Step 16: Continue back through the seed bead and the green crystal (both highlighted in RED): To attach the other end of the clasp, thread your needle with the tail from Step 1. Repeat Steps 17 and 18.

Repeat Steps 3 to 16 until your necklace is the length you want, minus about 12 inch and the length of your clasp.
