Test Director:
The four tabs on test director are: Requirements, Test Plan, Test Lab, Defects. The two views for test director are: Document view and coverage view.
1. Click on full Test Director; then click on login.
2. We click on requirements and create New Requirement. 3. Highlight the new requirement and create a new child requirement. 4. Highlight the child requirement and create two new grand child requirement then name them step one and step two. 5. Click on Test Plan tab, click on Subject create a new folder and give it a name and click save. 6. Click on Requirement tab, highlight the Parent or the first New Requirement right click and expand. Then highlight the first child right click and click on Create Test a window will appear named Create Temporary Test. Click on Subject and change it to the folder you have saved previously .Then click on Add Test to Test Set and create a new Test set ,Example: Test set: “mobile” and click ok. Repeat these steps as needed. 7. Go to Coverage and click on test coverage and click on Select Tests, select your folder and expand and highlight the grandchild. Then drag and drop, and repeat for grandchild two or as needed. 8. Then highlight the child and click on Details on (Coverage View) and fill in all the (Requirement ID :) for the child. 9. Then highlight the grandchild and click on Details on (Coverage View) and fill in all the (Requirement ID :) for the grandchild. 10. Now Repeat step 8 and 9 for the next child and grandchild or as many as you may have. 11. Now click on Test Plan tab then go to Test Plan Tree highlight the First child under each child that we have. 12. Click on Details first then we will have to fill in the description field of each child. 13. Click on Design steps and fill in stepname the description and the Expected Result to Edit each step right click on select Edit step and a window name Design Step Editor Fill in all the Description and the Expected Result. Once done click on close and do this for all the rest of the child and grandchild that you may have. 14. Now go to Test Plan and click on attachments here you will have to attach the file, webpage and a snapshot of the webpage. 15. Click on Attach: File and a window named Open will appear choose your file and click open. Then click on Attach: Webpage and a window will appear named Attach Webpage, type in the webpage that you testing and click ok. Then click on Attach: Snapshot and a window named snapshot will appear take a photo and click on attach. We have to do this for any bug that we find when we are testing the webpage. For as many child as we may have we have to check them all. 16. Then go to Test Lab and click on Test Sets and highlight on the first child, then click Run Test a window will appear named Manual Run and click on Start Run. 17. Depending on what child’s or fields fail and what the problem you may have. You have to select the status for the grandchild, after doing so Click on Add Defect window with this name will appear. Enter the Summary, Description and fill all the fields necessary, as so as you finish click Submit and close then click End of Run. Once you are done with the first child grandchild’s go to the next child if there is a bug do the same previous step to do the manual run. 18. Click on Defects tab and find the one you have created on the Defects Grid click on it and click on Mail Defect. Send Mail window will appear, fill in all the fields and fill in the subject and the e-mail address and also the short description. 19. After you get the e-mail with the Modify Build you have to re-test the webpage and if everything is not ok, go to: Test lab and run the test again. So, click on run tests and then click on start run, and do the Manual Run again. Mail it again as Rejected 20. Then we go to Requirements, click on Documents view and check all have Passes. Then go to Coverage view click on test coverage and click on select test highlight your folder and added, but you have to highlight the parent First. Then go to Document view and click on Reviewed and change the Parent and the child and the grandchild and change them all to Reviewed.
