Surfaces (cylinders and quadric surfaces) Main Reference: Louis Leithold,. The Calculus 7 (TC7), Addison Wesley Longman, Inc., 1996. Assessment Scheme: The students Pre-final standing will be computed as follows: FIVE UNIT EXAMS Quizzes/Projects (QP) Recitation Exercises Computation of Pre-final grade:
E1 E2 En Exer = Average HPS of E1 100% + HPS of E 2 100% + L + HPS of En 100%
Pre-final grade = 30% of Exer + 20% of EXAM1 + 10% of EXAM2 + 10% of EXAM3 + 10% of EXAM 4 + 10% of EXAM 5 + 10% of Quizzes/Projects *HPS: Highest Possible Score You must submit five (5) bluebooks for the unit exams. Quizzes should be written on 1/4 sheets of standard yellow paper. Answer sheets will be provided for recitation exercises. Bring at least one yellow paper each class (lecture and recit). Policies: 1. The university policy on attendance will be implemented. Accumulated absences of 14 or more from both the lecture and recitation classes will result to either a grade of DRP or a grade of 5.0. 2. A student who missed an exam due to a valid excused absence can take a make-up exam. 3. No make-up for missed quizzes and exercises. Late submission of homeworks and other requirements will not merit any score. Adjustments will be done for excused absences. 4. A student who gets a Prefinal Standing of at least 75% shall be exempted from taking the FINAL EXAM. Also, his/her Pre-final grade will be his/her final grade. Below is the standard transmutation table used by the Mathematics Division of IMSP: 96-100 92-95 88-91 1.0 1.25 1.5

5. The final grade of a student who took the Final Exam will be computed as 70% of Prefinal Standing + 30% of Final Exam. Your lecturer is Herbert S. Palines of IMSP. His CONSULTATION HOURS are: 8:30 10:30 am TTh and 1 pm 4 pm WF at MB110 or at MB 104 (MATH Clinic/IMSP Research Library). Recitation Instructors C-1R C-2R C-3R C-4R C-5R Vernel M.
