HOW TO BUY YOUR EXPRESS RANGE DIY KITCHEN

Note: All product information and prices are valid at time of printing. Please check in store with a consultant.

Design You can design your kitchen yourself using our design guide in this brochure. If you would prefer some professional design help, just book a design studio appointment with one of our consultants at our showrooms. They will be able to provide you with a layout, product list and price specifically for our express range. This costs just $95 incl GST and can save you time if you prefer a professional approach!

Delivery If you need your kitchen delivered, you can either arrange for your chosen service provider to collect on your behalf or we can arrange delivery for you with a third party courier. All orders must be paid for in full when ordering.

Measuring & site survey To ensure that your design will work in your space or to make sure that your installation can go smoothly, you will need to have accurate measurements. If you would like a kitchen professional to carry out a site survey at a reasonable cost ask a consultant to arrange this for you. A kitchen installer will then visit your home to measure. This costs just $149 incl GST. Installation service Once you know what you want and have the design completed you may want help with installation. We can provide you with a professional installer who can give you an obligation-free estimate for services including: Removing your old kitchen Installation of your new cabinets Installation of your bench top

Collection Kitchen Craftsmen will manufacture AND assemble your kitchen items just for you. When they are ready, you will be able to collect them from our factory in Joondalup. As they are pre-assembled, we save you time, money and effort and save on unnecessary packaging materials. You will need to bring a trailer or suitable vehicle for collection. Items will usually be ready within 5 working days of your order and must be collected within 48 hours of their manufacturing date. This date will be agreed with you to fit in with your plans.

Handling Please assume a weight of at least 45kgs for base and wall cabinets and 70kgs for tall cabinets. Also allow each cabinet to be a minimum of 0.7 Cubic metres. Your trailer must be able to safely carry the weight and volume.

EXPRESS RANGE GUARANTEED

What is guaranteed? Kitcraft Kitchens Pty Ltd trading as Kitchen Craftsmen provides the Kitchen Craftsmen Guarantee against defects in the component parts of our Express Range cabinets and doors (collectively our products) as follows: The guarantee covers defects in materials and workmanship in the cabinet frame, doors, panels, drawer fronts, legs and plinths. The guarantee does not cover handles, bench tops, appliances, sinks or taps. The benefits of the Kitchen Craftsmen Guarantee are in addition to your other rights and remedies under law in relation to our products. The following are not defects in our products and are not covered by the Kitchen Craftsmen Guarantee: Wear and tear; Cuts and scratches that appear after product delivery by us; Accidental damage; or Fading over time. Product details; Copy of your original purchase receipt or invoice; and Address details for the location our product was installed at. Where you live outside a radius of 50km from any of our showroom locations, you will be responsible for cost of delivery to our nearest showroom or the cost for our technician to travel to you, unless otherwise agreed with us. What will Kitchen Craftsmen do? On being advised by you of the potential defect, we or our agent will inspect our product to determine whether the Kitchen Craftsmen Guarantee applies. If the Kitchen Craftsmen Guarantee applies, we will: either repair the defective component of the product, or replace it with an identical component where available. Kitchen Craftsmen will decide whether a component or the product is to be repaired or replaced. If an identical component of the product is not available, we will replace it with a component of similar value, style and appearance; and cover the cost of repairs, spare parts, labour and travel to effect the repair or replacement. If we are unable to access your kitchen at the time arranged with you, then you will bear the additional cost to us to return to carry out the work. You are responsible for any other costs related to claiming this guarantee unless otherwise provided by law or agreed with us. If you wish for a defective component of a product to be replaced with a superior component, we will do so on payment of the difference between the component prices. The number of components we replace will be limited to the number we confirm are defective. Any product that we remove to replace will become the property of Kitchen Craftsmen. Your statutory rights Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Guarantee period The Kitchen Craftsmen Guarantee starts on the date of purchase and lasts for 5 years.

Who is entitled to claim the Kitchen Craftsmen Guarantee? You are entitled to claim the Kitchen Craftsmen Guarantee if: You are the original purchaser and have kept the original purchase receipt or invoice; You have followed the product care instructions provided to you. If you have lost the care instructions, these are available from our showrooms and our website www.kitchencraftsmen.com.au; Our product was purchased for personal, domestic or household use only; Our product has been fully paid for; and Our product has been installed in accordance with the product installation instructions provided with the product. Measure your room. Twice!

Getting your correct room measurements is important it can be the difference between a kitchen that fits and one that doesnt. But we can help you with the guide below or even arrange a professional measure. The distance between the cooktop and hood should be 65-75cm. This is a safe distance at which the hood can work most efficiently. See appliance manufacturers details.

To start, measure the outline of the room by measuring the walls, between each corner.

Measure anything that sticks out such as pillars, other shallow walls, pipes etc. Also measure the floor to ceiling and include any bulkhead dimensions. Mark them all on your drawing. Then measure and draw up any window or door. Include the widths and heights and also depths of sills or reveals. Very importantly, make a note of the height of the window from the floor. This will indicate if your benchtop is also your windowsill.

Check the position of power outlets, lights switches, aircon or security switches. Measure the distance from a corner and mark it clearly on your drawing. If you are prepared to have these moved, make a note of where they could go.
Ideally the distance between opposite sides of the kitchen should be at least 120cm. This is so you can open drawers & doors on both sides at the same time. However 100cm will still be usable.

Last but not least, measure and mark where your water supply comes in

and very importantly, where the waste is. If the waste pipe goes out of the wall or goes straight into the floor, you will need to know, especially if you are going to include a dishwasher.

Planning your kitchen What should you think about?

Designing your own kitchen can be daunting. Thats why weve put some top tips here, for you to consider. After all, it can be difficult enough cooking the meal, without the added hassle of a design that doesnt work well!

If possible, imagine a triangle between your cook top, fridge and sink. Building your

kitchen around this will get some order of flow into the room. Wherever possible, design at least 150mm of benchtop either side of your cooktop

the more the better, especially for when you are serving straight from the pan onto the plate. For this you would need about 300mm. Always allow enough space for the correct sink. In tight areas where space is

limited, you can use mobile drainers that cover the sink. This can sometimes be used as additional benchtop. But give it enough distance from the cook top. Allow up to 920mm from the floor to the top of benchtop. This gives you a good

working height. Then allow 458mm between the benchtop and the underside of your wall cabinets. The total height with our Express Range will be approx. 2100mm to the top of a Wall or Tall cabinet. (Thats why its important to check your ceiling and bulkhead heights!) If you arent going to be replacing your floor covering, check the distance from the wall to the front of your existing kickboard. It will need to be the same or less than your new kitchen otherwise a deeper benchtop will be required and the cabinets must be set off the wall. Lastly, think about whether you need any doors to open with a left hinge or a right

hinge. That will help to make the kitchen work properly without the problems of having awkward access to that all important saucepan!

Remember for just $95 we can also offer a design service for you in-house, from exact measurements you supply. Also, if you need a different solution, ask to see our other ranges where cabinets are made to measure, site surveys are carried out by us and installation is part of our full project management service.
