in-house from an advanced ceramic alloy,
and coated with a Teflon lubricant. As a
result, GROHE SilkMove technology
ensures a lifetime of maintenance-free

generous operating angle means that
temperature change from hot to cold is
a smooth, gradual and precise process.
Our chrome plating process, refined over the

past 70 years, creates a deep and even
layer and is known as one of the best
surface finishes in the world. The result is
a luminous, mirror-like sheen that is soil
repellent and resists scratches and
tarnishing. GROHE StarLight ensures a
sparkling chrome finish for years to come.
GROHE DreamSpray technology is at the

heart of all our showers. These advanced
shower engines feature multiple single
parts to efficiently distribute an equal flow
of water to every single nozzle. This allows
us to offer a number of precise spray
patterns for an enjoyable shower.
For convenience, comfort and safety, our

thermostats feature GROHE TurboStat
technology. By increasing the sensitivity of
the thermo element and restructuring the
internal waterways, our thermostats react
to abrupt changes in water pressure two
times faster than before, and are up to
nine times more accurate than the leading
competitors. The desired temperature
is reached in a fraction of a second and
maintained for the duration of the shower.

technology to our single-lever faucets to GROHE TurboStat

technology, which delivers fast and accurate temperature

control to our thermostats, our products are designed to
last and to bring comfort and enjoyment to the user.
As with any industry, there is a prescribed set of standards
that our products must meet. The GROHE Life-testing Centre
performs a number of tests to ensure that our fittings
exceed these requirements. Instead of the 90,000 temperature changes required by ISO 9001, GROHE faucets must
complete twice as many cycles equivalent to 20 years of
use before being approved for mass production. Prior to
delivery, real-life simulation checks are performed on every
single product using water or should this not be recommendable for reasons of drinking water hygiene compressed air.
Our products are designed to give years of trouble-free
performance, therefore even the smallest details are
important to us after 20 years of daily use, the coloured
indicators for the hot and cold water supplies on our faucets
are still as clear as the day the fitting was purchased. After
all, quality as GROHE understands it, is more than the
collections of norms and standards it is a central element
of our corporate philosophy to constantly improve and
innovate.

At Grohe we believe even the most extensive testing
methods and the toughest quality requirements are not
enough. Grohe continually challenges its achievements in
product performance, technology and quality against our
leading competitors by commissioning external comparison
tests from acknowledged test institutes like TV SD or
LGA, Germany.
GROHE SilkMove is the clear test winner

In a large-scale endurance test for single-lever mixers,
Germanys TV SD examined the mechanical wear of
products from nine renowned international manufacturers.
The test included subjecting the faucet levers to a defined
number of movements to simulate 20 years of use in a
multi-person household. In accordance with standards
DIN EN 817 and NF 077, they underwent 70,000 cycles
consisting of 210,000 open/close operations and
140,000 hot/cold operations. The result: GROHE is the
clear test winner. This impressive performance is due to
the high-quality cartridges used for all GROHE single-lever
mixers and GROHE SilkMove technology.

GROHE Turbostat is certified test winner

In a comprehensive test of shower thermostats by LGA,
a subsidiary of TV Rheinland, Germany, a total of
17 competing products from leading European
manufacturers were tested. The test categories were
control quality, safety, handling and service quality.
Grotherm thermostats featuring GROHE Turbostat
technologies were the undisputed test winners. For
customers that means more water enjoyment and
ultimate safety.
GROHE Rapid SL triumphs with fastest installation time

In a practical installation test conducted by REFA-Bundesverband, Germany, GROHE Rapid SL prevailed against products
from five major competitors. The GROHE Rapid SL with the
unique GROHE QuickFix technology, proved to be the fastest
to install. Furthermore thanks to the easy installation
complicated assembly processes are a thing of the past.
For projects in particular the Rapid SL system saves
time and therefore money.

Weve all been there before. Youve just stepped under

your nice hot shower when someone else in the house
either turns on a faucet or flushes the toilet; suddenly the
temperature of your shower plummets to freezing cold or
becomes scalding hot leaving you with soap in your eyes
as you try to manually adjust the temperature back to a
comfortable level. While style and versatility are important
when it comes to planning a new bathroom, by installing
a GROHE thermostat you can be sure of a safe and
enjoyable showering experience every time.
Whats inside?
Thermostatic valves work by constantly mixing hot and
cold water to a pre-selected temperature, so even if
someone else in the house draws off water the thermostat
reacts by rebalancing the quantities of hot and cold water
to maintain the correct temperature. In the most extreme
case, i.e. should the supply of cold water fail, the hot
water shuts off automatically to prevent scalding. For
convenience, peace of mind and economy all in one,
a thermostat is a must.

Our flush plates are available in a number of styles, and will provide the finishing touch to
your bathroom. They can be fixed vertically or horizontally to work with your tiling pattern and
removed easily to give access to the cistern. Our Surf and Skate designs will complement
both modern and traditional bathroom schemes and feature dual flush (3 or 6 litres) or
single flush technology. Or, for a fully coordinated look, choose a plate designed specifically
for some of our faucet ranges.

Reflecting the design aesthetic of the GROHE Cosmopolitan faucet and shower lines, the Nova Light
actuation plate utilizes two basic geometric shapes. This simple combination of a circle framed by a
rectangle is brought to life by a ring of light, while casting a gentle colored glow over the surrounding area.
Mains-powered LED technology allows you to set the light to any color blue, green, red, yellow or one of
the many tones in-between or to have a constantly changing spectrum. Finished in GROHE StarLight
chrome, Nova Light can be mounted in either landscape or portrait format and can be programmed to
switch on and off at any given time.

Creating innovative solutions for everyday problems is something that GROHE is proud of. GROHE Fresh brings a new level of convenience to the bathroom. It allows you to have the
best of both worlds the clean lines achieved from choosing a concealed cisterns and the continuous hygiene and cleanliness associated with cistern blocks.
Until now, it was not possible to access a concealed cistern to add a cleaning block. GROHE Fresh features an easy-to-open actuation plate, which gives access to a slide that
delivering the tablet into the cistern. The entire process takes seconds, thanks to the hinged plate that opens like a door.
GROHE Fresh is compatible with all GROHE concealed cisterns with small actuation plates whether its a new installation project or the upgrade of an existing one. It is offered as a
set with the actuation plate of your choice, or as retrofit accessory to use with your current cistern and plate. For older cisterns, simply remove the fixing frame, add the slide to the
cistern and attach the new frame, then re-connect the pneumatic hose to the actuation plate. For cisterns without the AV1 flushing valve, a complete upgrade kit is available.

For decades the architectural significance of Haus Heusgen remained

a well-kept secret. Until recently,
when its current owner, architect Karl
Amendt, revealed the iconic status
of the building.
Built in the 1930s, Haus Heusgen
was designed by architect Ludwig
Mies van der Rohe for the Huesgen
family of textile industrialists. Following
the death of the industrialists son,
Amendt purchased the house and
decided to give it a complete overhaul,
before opening it to the public.
To me, it was very important to
renovate Haus Heusgen in the sense
of Mies van der Rohe. We were able
to recondition a lot of the original
items; however, I had to replace the
bathroom fittings, explains Amendt.
The Atrio two-handle mixer from
GROHE fits in perfectly. It reflects the
essential design elements of
Bauhaus architecture, as if it had
been designed especially for this
ambience.
