Issues/situations Pupils were talking and disturbing their friends when teacher is teaching Some pupils were not able to speak in and understand English language
Analysis Pupils were talking and disturbing their friends when teacher is teaching Some of the pupils were talking with their friends while I was teaching and explaining something to them. To some extent, they raised their voice and shouted. This misbehaviour destructed other pupils who really want to learn especially those who were sitting at the same table and in the same group. Apart from that, there were pupils who liked to disturb their friends. They threw papers and stationaries to their friends, they changed their sitting places, and pulled their friends cloth.
Some pupils were not able to speak in and understand English language Some pupils spoke in Bahasa Melayu during the lesson. I needed to translate the words/phrases/sentences that they spoke in Bahasa Melayu to English.
Suggestions for improvement I should be more strict and particular on pupils behaviour during the presentation stage. Usually, I asked them to stand and reminded them to not doing other things during my class. Besides, I warned them by saying I will not allow you to go for recess/ sit down if you keep on talking and disturbing your friends and I will not allow you to go for recess/ sit down if you are not paying attention or responds. I think I should apply token and punishment technique. Whoever behave nicely and obey my rules will be given token, and whoever misbehave will be punished. I should be able to adjust the time for every stage when needed. I need to encourage pupils to communicate in English language during the lesson. I should provide them with guidelines for any form of communication they want us. For example: Excuse me teacher. May I go to the toilet?
Follow-up period I will try to solve these issue or at least prepare myself with any unexpected situations or upcoming issues within one week. I need to manage my time wisely to ensure the flow of my lesson is smooth and to make sure they are not affecting my lesson too much.

Journal Number of journal : 2/8 Week of practicum : 2 nd week Date : 7 th April 11 th April Title : Second week closing the gap for improvement 1. Problem/incident Second week, I took full charge of 3 Jujur whereby I covered all the skills in one week. I managed to cover all skills equally but I concentrated more on writing skill as they were poor in their writing. This week was more challenging as I needed to prepare more lesson plans and teaching aids. On Monday I taught them listening and speaking skill by using audio tracks that I did myself. The problem that I encountered here was, my recording was little fast for the students. Some of them had difficulty in following the audio track. Besides that I also had some role play activity and the students thoroughly enjoyed it. On Tuesday, I was teaching reading and I focused on the words some and any. I felt very unsatisfied of the lesson because I was not prepared well for the lesson. I did not do much early preparation as I got very nervous when Mr.Murugan wanted to observe on the same day. This was my major problem whereby I always take things light and not very serious on preparing lesson as a quality one. Besides that I was also making many grammatical errors in my speech as I was nervous and not well prepared. Moreover, my teaching aids also had some grammatical errors because I failed to re-check my teaching aids. I realised it only when I was presenting my teaching aid in front of the class. It must have been my worst Tuesday as failed to manage my time as well. My exceeded my curfew and failed to summarise the lesson properly. On Thursday, more inconvenient events took place whereby I had to change my class from computer lab to normal classroom due to some emergency meeting. I wasted so much of time in doing the transition from one place to another. As on Friday, I was observed by Mdm. Sharifah for the first time. Surprisingly the lesson went well without any disruptions. I felt satisfied with the lesson and my lecturer highlighted few of my mistakes to be improved. 2. Analysis Based on the all the problems and incidents that happened the whole week, I have blame myself because I was not flexible enough to handle situations and did not have much early preparation.
