area of Districts Nasirabad and Jafarabad of Balochistan and District Jacobabad and
Kambar Shahdadkot of Sindh Province.

Scope of Work:

To provide the direly needed effluent disposal
facilities for existing and proposed drainage projects
to reclaim the agricultural land converted in ponds of
water due to lake of disposal of storm water and
Irrigation surplus. Conservation of Hamal and
Mancher Lakes and environment condition will
improve over gross commanded area (GCA) of
287,106 hectares. The Project comprising following

Hairdin Carrier Drain Extension from Chukhi
to MKZP and 6km North of Chukhi.
Construction of Irrigation channel for
reutilization of 400 cusec of Balochistan
effluent.
RBOD Extension from MKZP to Hairdin Pump

Re-modelling of Shahdad Kot Main Drain.
Surface Drainage System of Usta Muhammad
Unit.
Hadero Drainage Unit.
Usta Muhammad Drainage Unit.

Objectives/Benefits
1. Improving environmental condition and water
quality.
2. Increasing agricultural production by way of
improving cropping intensity from 113% to 125%
in the project area.
3. Increasing area under Rabi Cultivation by
providing condition by timely removal of surface
water.
4. Minimizing pollution of Hamal Lake.
5. Reclamation of water logged areas.

Tenders for Hairdin Carrier drain Extension from
Chukhi to MKZP and 6Km North of Chukhi opened on
27.01.2005. Letter of Commencement issued to
Contractor on 21.03.2005. The Construction work is
substantially completed.

Earth Work 141.360 Mcft.
Structure 36 Nos.

Tenders for RBOD Extension from MKZP to Hairdin
Pump Station opened on 29-08-2005. Letter of
commencement issued to Contractor on 20-02-2006. The
Construction work is suspended by the Contractor due
to financial crunch and Flood 2010.

Structure 85 Nos.

Tender Documents for Construction of Irrigation
Channel up to Chitti River opened on 26-01-2006. The
Construction work was restarted by the Contractor on
15.02.2010 after partial payment to the Contractor and
again suspended by Contractor due to financial crunch
and Flood 2010. The work restarted by the Contractor
w.e.f. 22.12.2011.

Tenders for Construction of Hadero Drainage Unit
(Contract R-III (d/1)) opened on 17

May, 2006. Letter of
Acceptance issued to M/s Muhammad Ayub & Brothers.
The work is terminated by the Authority due to
financial constrains.

Tenders for Construction of Usta Muhammad Drainage
Unit (2

2006. The Construction work is suspended by the
Contractor due to financial crunch and Flood 2010.

Structure 77 Nos.

Tender for re-modelling of Shahdad Kot Main Drain
contract No. R-III (b/1) has been opened on 11

July,
2008 and awarded to M/s Khyber Grace (Pvt) Ltd
Islamabad. The work is in Progress.

Structure 31 Nos in Progress.

PSDP Allocation for fiscal year 2012-2013 is Rs. 1000.000
Million.
