2 nd International Conference on FiNSTA14 http://www.fnstaa.org/ December 20-22, 2014 Venue Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthinilayam, A.P., India Organised by Endorsed by 1 N anotechnology is at the forefront of technological discussions, de- bates and developments as scientsts, policy makers and entrepre- neurs endeavor to fully harness its unlimited capabilites and unleash a broad range of novel utlites. Despite having a myriad of well estab- lished scientfc and technological tools and processes at its disposal, exploraton into the nanotechnology realm has been limited. Research- ers with open minds, metculous ability and willingness to think out- of-their-box are needed to facilitate advances in various disciplines by amalgamatng their ideas into new theories and products that can po- tentally improve our lifestyle in the 21 st century. Yet, at the same tme, researchers must be cognizant of the possibility of nanomaterials en- dangering our health and environment and act in a responsible manner while striving for scientfc advancements. Such concerns have led to a debate among advocacy groups and governments on whether special regulaton of nanotechnology is warranted. A regulatory road map de- scribing steps to deal with these shortcomings has to be identfed and implemented. Despite these potental concerns, the nanotechnology market is growing and is predicted to create revenues of over 1 trillion dollars per annum by 2015. Over 1300 manufacturer-identfed nano- tech products are publicly available, with new ones hitng the market at a pace of 34 per week. The task of convertng basic discoveries into safe marketable products for societal beneft is the need of the hour. F iNSTA14 is the second in the series of conferences intended to be held every year at diferent locatons across the globe to bring to- gether the internatonal community from diverse areas of the nano- research to showcase the cutng edge research to the stakeholders, and aid the ongoing process of developing and extending the collabora- tve vision through emerging research partnerships. The conference is intended for all stakeholders of nano-research, and in partcular for its practtoners, researchers, teachers and students.
