In the Name of Allh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Avoiding doubtful acts


On the authority of Abu Muhammad al-Hasan bin Ali bin Abi Taib, the grandson of the
Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wasallam, and who is dearest to him, radiyallahu
anhuma, who said: I committed to memory from the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi
wasallam, the following words!:
"ea#e that about which you are in doubt for that about which you are in no doubt$
%Al-Tirmidhi and al-&asa'i related it, and al-Tirmidhi said: It is a good and genuine Hadith(

Being concerned with beneficial matters
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu *anhu, who said : The Messenger of Allah,
sallallahu *alayhi wasallam, said :
+,art of the -erfection of someone*s Islam is his lea#ing alone that which does not concern
him$+

The obligation of loving all Muslims
Abu Ham0ah Anas bin Mali1, radiyallahu *anhu, who was the ser#ant of the Messenger of
Allah, sallallahu *alayhi wasallam, re-orted that the ,ro-het, sallallahu *alayhi wasallam, said:
+&one of you truly belie#es in Allah and in His religion! until he lo#es for his brother what
he lo#es for himself+

Hadith )4
The value of human life
On the authority of Ibn Mas5ud, radiyallahu anhu, who said: The Messenger of Allah,
sallallahu 6alayhi wasallam, said:
+The blood of a man who is a Muslim is not lawful i$e$ cannot be lawfully shed!, sa#e if he
belongs to one of three classes!: a married man who is an adulterer7 life for a life i$e$ for
murder!7 one who is a deserter of his religion, abandoning the community$8

Hadith )9
Good manners in speech; behaviour of Muslims towards
neighbours/guests
Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu *anhu, re-orted that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu *alayhi
wasallam, said:
+"et whosoe#er belie#es in Allah and in the "ast :ay either s-ea1 good or be silent$ "et
whosoe#er belie#es in Allah and in the "ast :ay honour his neighbour$ "et whosoe#er
belie#es in Allah and in the "ast :ay honour his guest$+

Hadith );
Restraining oneself from anger
Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu *anhu, re-orted that a man said to the ,ro-het, sallallahu 6alayhi
wasallam:
+Ad#ise me< +The ,ro-het said, +:o not become angry and furious$+ The man as1ed the
same! again and again, and the ,ro-het said in each case, +:o not become angry and furious$+

The concept of Ihsan
Abu Aa*la Bhaddad ibn Aus, radiyallahu *anhu, re-orted that the Messenger of Allah,
sallallahu *alayhi wasallam, said:
+=erily, Allah has enCoined eDcellence ihsan! with regard to e#erything$ Bo, when you 1ill,
1ill in a good way7 when you slaughter, slaughter in a good way7 so e#eryone of you should
shar-en his 1nife, and let the slaughtered animal die comfortably$+

Hadith )?
The concept of Taqwa
Abu :har Eundub bin Eunadah and Abu Abdul .ahman Mu5adh bin Eabal, radiyallahu
anhuma, re-orted that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu *alayhi wasallam, said:
FGear Allah where#er you may be7 follow u- an e#il deed with a good one which will wi-e
the former! out, and beha#e good-naturedly towards -eo-le$8
%Al-Tirmidhi relates it, saying: It is a good hasan! Tradition$ In some co-ies he says: It is a
good and genuine hasan and sahih! Hadith$(

Hadith )>
Allahs !rotection
Abu al-6Abbas 6Abdullah bin 6Abbas, radiyallahu anhuma, re-orted: One day I was behind
the ,ro-het, sallallahu 6alayhi wasallam, and he said to me:
+O young man, I shall teach you some words %of ad#ice( : 2e mindful of Allah, and Allah will
-rotect you$ 2e mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you$ If you ha#e need to!
as1, as1 of Allah7 and if you see1 hel-, see1 hel- from Allah$ Hnow that e#en if the &ation
or the whole community! were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would
not benefit you with anything eDce-t that which Allah has already recorded for you, and that
if they gather together to harm you with something, they would not be able to harm you with
anything eDce-t that which Allah has already recorded against you$ The -ens ha#e been lifted
and the -ages ha#e dried$+
%Al-Tirmidhi relates this and says: It is a good, genuine Hadith(
In a #ersion other than that of al-Tirmidhi it reads:
+$$2e mindful of Allah, you will find Him before you$ Iet to 1now Allah in -ros-erity and He
will 1now you in ad#ersity$ Hnow that what has -assed you by was not going to befall you7
and that what has befallen you was not going to -ass you by$ And 1now that #ictory comes
with -atience, relief with affliction, and ease with hardshi-$+

Hadith )J
The concept of Al"#a$a %modest$&
Abu Mas*ud *KLbah bin *Amr al-Ansari al-2adri, radiyallahu *anhu, re-orted that the
Messenger of Allah, sallallahu *alayhi wasallam, said:
+Among the things that -eo-le ha#e found from the words of the -re#ious -ro-hets was: *If
you feel no shame, then do as you wish$*+
