Come to one or many. No prerequisites.
How the 4 Noble Truths of Buddhism can help
Christians come into divine union with God.
Buddhists attempt to completely eliminate
emotional suffering by changing all aspects of their
minds. Christians attempt to come into divine
union by putting on the mind of Christ as St. Paul
put it. This requires changing our thinking,
willfulness, emotions and behaviors to those of
Jesus a complete spiritual transformation. The
practices and insights of Buddhism can greatly
help Christians in this radical transformation.

Offered by the Franciscan Adult School
The Franciscan Heart of Thomas
Merton presentation & book-signing
By author Daniel P. Horan, OFM
Thursday, October 2, 2014, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Assisi auditorium stage classroom
Millions of Christians and non-Christians look to
Thomas Merton for spiritual wisdom and guidance,
but to whom did Merton
look? In The Franciscan
Heart of Thomas Merton,
Franciscan friar and author
Daniel Horan shows how,
both before and after he
became a Trappist monk,
Mertons life was shaped
by his love for St. Francis
and for the Franciscan
spiritual and intellectual
tradition. Given recent
renewed interest in St.
Francis, this timely
resource is both informative and practical,
revealing a previously hidden side of Merton that
will inspire a new generation of Christians to live
richer, deeper, and more justice-minded lives of
faith.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase
and signing by the author after the presentation.
Co-sponsored by the Franciscan Adult School &
20s/30s Boston Young Adults

neglected growth process a person can go

their loss and not feel uncomfortable about it .
Hopefully, we can offer some of the important
methods of learning to live life with the one they
love.
