Monday, November 3 rd , 2014 Dear Parents,
Below is some more information for the month of November. Feel free to contact me at the school at 791-8594 or by email at if you have any questions.
Halloween Snacks- J ust a reminder of the school policy for students to not bring Halloween treats such as: chocolate bars, chips, pop, and candies to school. Please continue to send healthy snacks with your child such as a piece of fruit, vegetables, cheese and crackers, or a granola bar. Also, please remember to send NUT FREE snacks to school as we do have students with serious nut allergies in the classroom
Picture Retakes- On November 4th, the photographers will be in to retake the students pictures if their pictures did not turn out as you had hoped or if your child was not at school when the pictures were taken in October. These picture retakes are taking place on November 4 h at 9:00am. If you are wanting to have your childs picture taken or retaken, you will have to bring your child to the school yourself if you are in the afternoon class. Please go to the school office when you arrive. Please let us know if you are wanting to have your childs picture retaken so we can prepare the photographer.
Dressing for the Weather- As the weather continues to get cooler, students need to be dressed properly. Students do go outside every day for recess and at times, they have Phys. Ed. outside as well. The wind can be cool and students have complained of cold hands or ears. The children also enjoy playing in the snow that we will be getting soon. Please try to send your child to school in ski pants or splash pants when we have snow on the ground so we can keep your childs pants dry and their legs warm.
Please make sure your child comes to school with a warm enough jacket, ski pants (if there is snow on the ground), mittens, a toque and proper shoes/boots for the weather. Since we do go outside every day, I would like to try to keep the students as warm and dry as possible.
U of R Education Students- For the past 2 weeks, the morning students have enjoyed having 2 University of Regina Education students, Noelle Nestman and Matt Hughes, in the classroom, Miss Nestman and Mr. Hughes will be in the school every Monday morning until December 1 st . They are first year education students that are learning to become teachers by observing the students, the teachers, the classroom environment as well as interacting with the students. The Pre-K students are really enjoying having Miss Nestman and Mr. Hughes in the classroom and ask for them when they are not there. They are a great addition to the classroom on Monday mornings.
Mustache Day- On November 27 th , students are asked to bring $1.00 to wear a mustache. Students can draw on a mustache, or attach a costume mustache. The money raised will be donated to cancer.
