3. Matters Arising
The Cycle Cross accounts for 2014 have been filed with the Secretary.
The Danum Trophy did not take place in 2014, as the Doncaster Cycle
Festival was the principal event and focus of the year.

5. Secretarys Report including Accounts

Membership
There are currently 112 paid up members, and an additional 47 members
with outstanding payments. The club has 10 life members, 9 women and 14
junior members. During 2014 there have been 25 new members joining the
club.
The secretary is investigating using the British Cycling Management Tool
which enables membership and subscriptions to be paid and managed on
line. It is hoped this will improve efficiency and reduce outstanding
payments. Alternative methods of payment were proposed including by
Standing Order, and receipted cheques/cash direct to the Secretary for those
who do not have internet access.

There was a successful application for a grant from Millar Homes of 500
and an application from the Lloyds Bank Community Fund is pending which
could be worth up to 3,000.
Club Clothing
The club currently has stock of a number of larger size short and long sleeve
jerseys, various bib tights, mits and arm warmers. The stock will be sold at
discount and has a value of 1,705. The Secretary will advertise on the club
website details.

7. Social Secretarys Report
The Annual Prize Presentation will be held in the New Year towards the end
of January 2015. The proposed venue is the Doncaster Catholic Club and
the evening will include a buffet. Details are to be confirmed nearer the date.
8. Time Trial Reports for 2014 and plans for 2015
The Club Open 25 was held on 7th September 2014. There were 36 entries,
generating 360 in income. After expenses there was a surplus of 43.70.
Thanks to the all volunteers and time keepers. At present no Club Open
events are planned for 2015.
The Club Evening 10s, after a bright start, saw limited numbers participating.
Discussions are taking place with 2 other local clubs about holding combined
club time trials during 2015 on Wednesday evenings to share marshalling
duties and promote the wider participation. It was agreed to pursue the idea
of interclub time trial events.
9. Road Race Report
The main road race event of 2014 was the Doncaster Cycles Festival held in
June. Martin Maltby and members of the club working with DMBC were
instrumental in organising the event. On the day there were 330 riders and
an estimate of between 4,000 and 5,000 spectators. Figures from DMBC
estimate the economic value of the Festival as 120,000 to the local
economy, the value of volunteers to be 27,000. At its peak the Twitter feed
was 1.1million, and during the day there were 22,000 Facebook views. The
Festival attracted Olympic Champion Ed Clancy as well as local professional

and elite riders including Russ and Dean Downing and Graham Briggs.
There were large fields in the womens and youth races with many school
aged children taking part. The feedback has been excellent and the event
judged as a huge success. A huge debt of thanks is owed to all the
volunteers from the club who made the event possible.
The Festival will take place again in 2015 and the date agreed as 31 st May.
There will be an 8 race programme including an elite National A category
race. The HQ will be at The Cast and the same circuit will be used.
Planning is progressing and it is hoped it will be another massive event.
The meeting recorded a vote of thanks to Martin Maltby for his work as the
principal organiser.
10. Go Ride Club Coaching
During 2014 Martin Maltby and Rod Dugher qualified as British Cycling Level
2 coaches and the club registered with British Cycling as a Go-Ride club.
Fred Easton, Andy Bouttell and David Ward are currently undertaking their
qualification.
Go-Ride coaching sessions for children were set up and delivered in the
summer at the Keepmoat Stadium. A total of 33 junior riders attended the
sessions held 21st July to 25th August and 22nd September to 20 th October
generating 225.00.
Thanks was recorded to Jonny Harvey who supported the sessions and
Andy Maddox who help secure the venue and volunteered as Welfare Officer
and all the volunteers.
Other Events during the year organised as part of the Cycles Festival
Family Rides
On 18th May 2014 the club organised a ride from Castle Park with route
around Sandall Beat Wood and Racecourse on a lovely sunny day. There
was a great turn out of 55 riders. A further ride was arranged on 8 th
November 2014 from Cusworth Hall with route around High Melton Wood
Cadeby and the Trans Pennine Trail. 12 riders braved the wet and cold
conditions. Further rides are planned over the coming months.
Cusworth Hill Climb Wednesday 25th June
An evening summer hill climb at Cusworth Hall was a great success with
approximately 100 riders, and hopefully will become an annual event.

11. Club Kit for 2015
A new club kit is proposed for 2015. Two options for design were circulated
for feedback from Members. The supplier will be BioRacer. The meeting
voted the 2 designs:
Blue kit 6
Red and Blue kit 19
It was agreed the committee would have final input into the specific detail of
the design for the Red and Blue kit.
Examples of BioRacer kit were available at the meeting for members to try
for size and look at the quality. Sizing and prices will be posted on the club
website in the near future. All orders will require a deposit to be paid up front
and the club will be able to place small value orders (700) at a time.
It was agreed junior members (U18) could purchase club kit for 50%
discount. 3 month membership is still required prior to order.
12. Any Other Business
The conduct of riders on chain gang/training rides was raised. All members
are requested to keep to club etiquette, ride safe and in consideration for
other road users.
