Mitchell drew a wide swath across the
community, and if you hadnt known before the breadth of her influence, it was
amply evident on Friday afternoon!
Particularly moving were the First
Nations woman warrior songs & drumming. But also the stories from family,
friends, and politicos among them former NDP leader Adrian Dix. The community put on a wonderful hommage to
Millie, some form of thanks to Millies
family for having loaned her to us these
past 26 years.

Over the weekend, protestors were

getting fed up with the lack of provincial
response, leaving them ready to increase
their action. Nicola Valley Chiefs &
Friends of the Nicola Valley and their
supporters say that if they do not hear
from Minister of Environment Mary
Polak by Monday [today], they will act.
We, the Friends of the Nicola Valley,
in Unity with First Nations are requesting Minister of Environment Mary Polak
contact us and begin discussions regarding the current Bio Solids Protest in the
Nicola Valley.
These discussions can be without demands from either side, with the ultimate goal of a resolution to the current
unrest in the Nicola Valley.
There is immediate concern, if this issue
of bio solids is not resolved, there will be a
significant escalation of this unrest.
Meanwhile the blocades continue, as
does the nationwide media attention.
