ITINERARY A DAY BY DAY


FRIDAY: Baltra Puerto Ayora Transfer in.
PM: Lunch at noon. Dry landing, hiking educational visit to the Charles Darwin Station (giant
tortoises, Opuntia cactus, etc.). Degree of difficulty: easy Duration: 2 hours, dinner at night.
SATURDAY: Sullivan Bay and Bartolome
AM: Sullivan Bay :Breakfast in the morning.This site is of great geological interest is located southeast of Santiago Island, landing it can be done both on the rocky shore (dry landing) or the white
sandy beach (wet landing). The length of the trail is 1.5 km approximately.
The area is covered by lava flows Pahohoe type (solidified lava in a wavy or accordion). It was very
active in the past 25 years of the nineteenth century. The Sullivan lava was formed in 1897. Flow is
very young geologically. The magma formed is flat, but the underground lava movement, rapid
cooling and other eruptions led to the break in many places. Difficulty: Moderate Duration
approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Lunch at noon.
PM: Bartolom: Wet Landing, After lunch visit to the Pinnacle Rock beach for swimming and
snorkeling.
In the afternoon dry landing to reach the viewpoint of Bartolome. On this island, you can see
interesting formations of lava and cinder cones. After a 30 to 40 minutes climbing, a w ooden
staircase leads to the top of the island where there are beautiful views of the nearby beaches. This
island is one of the most visited and photographed because of Pinnacle Rock. Degree of difficulty:
Moderate, Duration 1 Hour 30 Minutes. Dinner in the evening.
SUNDAY: North Seymour Mosquera
AM: North Seymour: Breakfast in the morning. Dry landing. On this island you can see blue -footed
boobies, colonies of frigates, fork-tailed gulls, terns, sea lions, lava lizards and land iguanas. Palo
Santo trees can also be observed. Difficulty: Moderate Duration approximately 2 hours. Lunch at
noon.

PM: Mosquera: Wet Landing. The Islet is Located between the islands of Baltra and North
Seymour. It is a reef of rocks and coral (the result of an uprising) and a great white
sand beach.In most of its perimeter there is basis of lava rocks, as evidence of the
wash uprising, except in the southwest side where the landing occurs. This island has
one of the largest Populations of sea lions.You can also observe several species of
shorebirds. There have been occasional reports at this site of Orcas (Orcinus
orca). Degree of difficulty: easy, Duration approximately 1 hour, Dinner in the evening.

MONDAY: South Plazas Cerro Brujo


AM: South Plazas:Breakfast in the morning. Dry landing. This island is full of life. There are colonies
of sea lions and land iguanas. While you walk on the banks it is possible to see a great number of
birds such as nesting tropic birds and fork-tailed seagulls, but most of all enjoying the beautiful view
from the top the steep banks or strolling along the base of the cliff is an extremely pleasurable
experience. The Opuntiacactus grow here too and the vegetation changes color according to the
season of the year. Paths: easy, duration: 2 Hours. Lunch at noon.
PM: Cerro Brujo: Wet Landing is a beautiful beach of white coral where you can swim and watch
birds and sea lions, plus you can snorkel. Located on the north coast of the San Cristobal Island. In
the vicinity of the beach you can see seabirds like blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, herons,
frigate birds and shore birds. Degree of difficulty: easy, Duration approximately 2 hours, Dinner in
the evening.

AM: Interpretation Center-San Cristobal:Breakfast in the morning.Dry Landing. This site is
educational information about the evolution of the Galapagos Islands and animal life in the islands.
Degree of difficulty: easy. Duration: 1 hour 30Minutes. Transfer out to San Cristobals Airport.

TUESDAY:San Cristobal
AM: San Cristobal - Transfer in,Lunch atnoon.
PM: San Cristobal - Cerro Colorado: dry landing. After a bus ride of 45 minutes to reach Cerro
Colorado, where you can see giant Galapagos tortoises in a Breading Center. Degree of difficulty:
easy, 2 Hour Approx.Dinner in the evening.
WEDNESDAY: Espaola: Gardner Bay Punta Suarez
AM: Gardner Bay: Breakfast in the morning .Wet Landing.Located on the north coast of Espaola
Island. The main attraction is the colony of sea lions, which inhabit the beach in great quantity
during thebreeding season. Both resident and migratory birds are observed. Degree of difficulty:
easy Duration: 2 Hours.Lunch atnoon.
PM: Punta Suarez: Dry Landing. During the walk on this island you can see sea lions, marine
iguanas, blue footed boobies, Nazca boobies, Darwin finches, Galapagos hawks, albatrosses, lava
lizards, herons. Degree of difficulty: difficult, Duration: 2 Hours. Dinner in the evening.
THURSDAY: Floreana: Post Office Bay Punta Cormorant
AM: Post office bay:Breakfast in the morning. Wet Landing.This is one of the few visitor sites, that is
visited for its human history. Whaling Captain James Colnett established the wooden post barrel in
the early 1793. At the time whaling was a big industry, ships were typically gone for 2 years at a
time. The Galapagos Islands were a frequent stop for these ships. Outbound ships would drop off
letters after rounding the cape and the ships returning home would mail them.
Over the years thousands of ships have stopped to send and receive mail at Post Office Bay. Many
have posted a sign of driftwood or other materials memorializing their visit. This is the only area in
the Galapagos were graffiti is still acceptable.
Degree of difficulty: Easy Duration: 2 Hours. Lunch at noon.
PM: Punta Cormorant: Wet Landing, This site has a sandy olivine beach for walking and swimming.
The island also has a flamingo lagoon. In addition, white sand beach where sea turtles nest from
December to May. Degree of difficulty: easy Duration: 2 Hours. Dinner in the evening.
FRIDAY: Santa Fe Tortuga Bay
AM: Santa Fe: Breakfast in the morning. Wet Landing. Snorkeling in the rocky coast of the island, to
see a variety of fish and sea turtles.You can see colonies of sea lions, land iguanas, frigate birds,
Galapagos doves and lava lizards. On the island you can see a forest of giant cacti and Palo Santo
trees. Degree of difficulty: Moderate Duration: 2 Hours. Lunch at noon.
PM: Tortuga Bay: Dry Landing, interesting walk to the Turtle Bay beach, perhaps the most beautiful
beaches in the Galapagos, we can swim and snorkel observing colonies of marine iguanas, pelicans,
Darwin's finches, sharks, sea turtles, the incredible forest Giant Cactus, Degree of d ifficulty:
Moderate Duration: 3 Hours. Dinner in the evening.

SATURDAY: Santa Cruz


AM: EL Chato: Breakfast in the morning. Dry Landing. El Chato reserve is divided into two areas;
Caseta and Chato. The trail begins at Santa Rosa, 22 km from Puerto Ayora, with the Caseta route
being the more challenging. The reserve allows visitors to observe giant tortoises in the wild during
the dry season, and is also a good place to spot short-eared owls, Darwins finches, yellow warblers,
Galapagos rails and paint-billed crakes. Degree of difficulty: Easy. Duration: 1 hour 30 Minutes.
Transfer out to Baltras Airport.

SATURDAY: Santa Cruz
AM: Baltra: Transfer in to Puerto Ayora
PM: Charles Darwin Station: Lunch at noon. Dry landing, activities: hiking educational visit to the
Charles Darwin Station (giant tortoises, Opuntia cactus, etc.). Degree of difficulty: easy Duration: 2
hours, dinner at night.
SUNDAY: Santa Cruz
AM:Ballena Bay: Breakfast in the morning. Wet Landing.The visitor site is a cove of green sand at
the basis of Ballena Hill on the west coast of Santa Cruz Island. The beach contains a large amount
of olivine crystals, the same that originate from volcanic materials. The crystals were formed when
the magma was still underground.
Near the beach there are ceramic relics, which reflect human settlements that were close to the
beach in 1846. Difficulty: Moderate Duration: 2 hours. Lunch at noon.

PM: Dragon Hill: Dry Landing. The site visit is located in the northwest of Santa Cruz Island, and
consists of a path that runs for three different environments in just 1,600 m in length.
It gets its name because in 1975, was one of the only places in the Santa Cruz Island where there
were land iguanas in healthy state. Difficulty: Moderate Duration: 2 hours
MONDAY: Isabela: Tintoreras - Humedales
AM: Tintoreras: Breakfast in the morning. Dry Landing. The islet is Located south of Puerto Villamil.
It has a small bay of calm turquoise waters, where you can appreciate sea lions, sea turtles, marine
iguanas, rays, etc. The bay is connected to a crevice of crystal clear water, that's shallow and when
the tide is low the entrance closes. you can see how reef sharks swim along with other small fish
and sea lions. Difficulty: Easy Duration: 2 hours. Lunch at noon.
PM: Humedales: Dry Landing. The Wetlands is a network of trails, adjacent to Puerto Villamil. There
are nine tracks that comprise the following sites: The Wall of Tears, Cerro Orchilla, El Estero, Poza
Escondida, Poza Redonda, Tunnel del Estero, Playa del Amor, Bay of Tunis and Pozas Verdes.
The Wetlands are coastal mangroves and brackish water lagoons formed by seepage of seawater
and freshwater underground tributaries coming from the upper parts of the island. They are also an
important feeding area for the Galapagos penguin and one of the main nesting sites for green
turtles.
The wetlands of Isabela Island are essential for the maintenance of biological diversity of
Galapagos, as home to several species that depend exclusively on the wetland in order to fulfill
their life cycle, flamenco, Bug, stilt, oystercatcher, Gallinula, ghost crab, and fiddler crabs.
Difficulty: Easy Duration: 2 hours,Dinner at Night.
TUESDAY: Punta Moreno Urbina Bay
AM: Punta Moreno:Breakfast in the morning. Dry landing, Punta Moreno is located on the north
coast of Isabela Island. The route of the trail is approximately 2100 meters.The main attraction in
Punta Moreno is the coastal lagoons in the middle of black lava flow where there are several
species of birds. It has a view of 3 volcanoes, the most actives in the Galapagos; Sierra Negra and
Cerro Azul. Difficulty: Difficult Duration: 2 hours,Lunch at noon.
PM: Urbina Bay: Wet Landing, Urbina Bay is located at the base of volcanoes Alcedo and Darwin,
west of Isabela Island. Here you can find corals, shells, and many other organisms exposed above
the water. This area is also home to large and very colorful Galpagos land iguanas, giant tortoises
and the famous population of Alcedo Volcano. Difficulty: Moderate Duration: 2 hours,Dinner in the
evening.
WEDNESDAY: Punta Espinoza Caleta Tagus
AM: Punta Espinoza: Breakfast in the morning. Dry Landing. Punta Espinosa is a jagged promontory
of cracked and eroded lava, but the name could also refer to the hundreds of spiny marine iguanas
that drape the rocks. Pristine nature under an active volcano and a highlight of any cruise. Flightless
cormorants, Galapagos penguins, Galapagos sea lions, waders and the world's largest colony of
marine iguanas thrive on the edge of a barren lava flow. Fine stands of mangroves support yellow
warblers, Darwin finches, large billed flycatchers, Galapagos hawks and nesting b rown pelicans.
Difficulty: Moderate, Duration: 3 hours Dinner in the evening.

PM: Caleta Tagus: Dry Landing. The site visit Tagus Cove is located west of Darwin volcano on
Isabela Island. The route of the trail is about 1800 meters.
This was a favorite place for pirates and whalers, there is observed a tradition that has been
maintained since that time: the inscription of the names of boats. At the start of the walk, rising
and passing the staircase, there is a small cave where we found inscriptions dati ng from the 1800s.
Difficulty: Moderate Duration: 2 hours Dinner in the evening.
THURSDAY: Puerto Egas Rabida
AM: Puerto Egas - Santiago: Breakfast in the morning, Wet Landing. Puerto Egas is located
northwest of Santiago Island, fascinating place to visit because it had a great volcanic activity in the
past. Puerto Egas is one of the most popular sites in the Galapagos Archipelago. It has a beautiful
black sand beach where you can see its many inhabitants as sea lions, chameleons, lizards and
herons. Difficulty: Easy Duration: 2 hours Lunch at noon.
PM: Rabida: Wet Landing. Also known by the name of Jervis in honor of a British Admiral John
Jervis, Earl of St. Vincent. Rabida is located 5 km south of Santiago Island and is commonly regarded
as the geographical center of the Galapagos Islands. It has an area of 4.9 km and a maximum
altitude of 367 meters. It has a high iron content, which causes that this place has a distinct ive
reddish color. Its main attraction is the salt lagoon with flamingoes, pelicans and boobies place
where they build their nests.Difficulty: Easy Duration: 1:30 hours Dinner in the evening.
FRIDAY: Santa Cruz
AM: Las Bachas: Breakfast in the morning. Dry Landing.Itis a beach about 1 km in length. With
white sand beach, deserted and where you can see flamingos, and migratory birds.
In the vicinity of the Las Bachas beach can observe predominant vegetation of the coastal zone.
Las Bachas beach represents one of the main nesting sites of sea turtles (Cheloniamydas) on Isla
Santa Cruz.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Grade of difficult is considered for and average physical condition, it may vary depending
on each individual state.
Being Galapagos Islands a natural protected area all paths on the visit sites, excluding
breeding centers, are not paved and the irregularity as well as the slope of the terrain could
fluctuate because of the volcanic origin of the islands.
The disembarking to the islands takes place with panga boats and they can be either dry or
wet.
Standard docks are not available on disembarking on uninhabited islands because of
regulations of Galapagos national park in order to preserve the natural environment.
Due to the isolated location of the islands, internet and phone communication are limited
on the uninhabited islands.
Payments on board (bar, wetsuit rental, tips and extras) are only accepted in cash.
Laundry service is not available on board.
Entrances fees have to be paid in cash, USD $100 per person for the Galapagos National
Park entrance fee (must be paid upon arrival in Galapagos), USD $10 per person for the
INGALA Tourist Control Card (payable at the airport [Quito or Guayaquil].

The Bare Essentials:

Travel Documents (Passport etc) - All foreigners are required to travel with their valid

and original passport.


Day Pack it most likely includes extra clothing and other necessities during daily island
visits (e.g., sunblock/suncream, camera, glasses,etc).
Comfortable walking shoes (or boots) with good traction Itinerariescould include
walking on sharp, hot volcanic lava or hiking on rocky trails.
Teva style sandals good for hiking on beaches. Keep in mind that several of the landing
are wet landings
Swimming (bathing) suit for swimming and/or snorkeling.
Light to medium fleece jacket It can be anything from windy, wet, misty to cool at
times, especially in the late evening.

- 20% (of the total rate) as a deposit within 5 days after the reservation
- 80% payment of the total rate 60 days before the departure date
CANCELLATIONS (the charges will apply over the total rate of the cruise)
- Until 90 days before the departure: no cancellation fees
- 89 - 60 days before the departure: 20% charges over the total rate of the cruise
- 59 - 30 days before the departure: 50% charges over the total rate of the cruise
- 29 - 0 days before the departure: 100% charges over the total rate of the cruise
