Language requirements
Classes are lectured in Portuguese. However, some Master level courses might be
lectured in English if the class has foreign students and the Professor agrees to
lecture in English. Please check the language requirements of each department
as you should pay attention to the language of instruction.
So, a reasonable knowledge in Portuguese is therefore essential, except for those
who are coming for a training period or research project.
A presentation of a certificate showing proficiency in Portuguese or in English is
compulsory. B1 level, according to CEFR levels, is the minimum required for the
acceptance of your application.
