does not exceed the allowable temperature of
that material In these installations, minimum
clearances noted in the above table are to be increased by the necessary amount.
ANGLE MOUNTING
This heater is suitable for mounting angles with the short
axis rotated in either direction as shown in Figure 3.
Improper angle mounting can result in damage to the
heater or unsafe operation.
IMPORTANT: For either horizontal or angle mounting,
the long axis of the heater must be level. Use only noncombustible mounting hardware. In general, mounting
angles above 30 are only used for special application of
spot and area heating.

The manifold pressure can be measured at the 1/8 inch pipe tap on the
control valve. Pressure measurements
should be taken with a water manome

ounces per square inch or pounds per
square inch are not accurate enough to
properly measure or set the pres

CAUTION
Natural Gas models are orificed for 1000 BTU/
CU FT gas. Propane/LP Gas models are orificed
for 25000 BTU/CU FT gas. When the actual
heating value differs, an orifice change may be
required.

WIRING DIAGRAM
Wiring must be done in accordance with
local codes. A heater or group of heaters can be
controlled by a thermostat or manual switch.
Total load of all heaters must be considered in
determining the required contact rating of the
controlling thermostat or switch. (Normal Ratings 24VAC 60 Hz .9AMPS). For details on
specific heater wiring connections see wiring diagram below. The Hi-tension wire must be
connected to ignition control before unit will
operate properly.
WARNING:
CORRECT POLARITY OF FIELD WIRING
CONNECTIONS FOR THIS CONTROL SYSTEM
IS REQUIRED. REVERSE POLARITY CAN RESULT IN UNSAFE OPERATION OF THE
HEATER. THE HEATER MUST BE
ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL
CODE, ANSI/NFPA NO. 70 (latest edition).
DO NOT EXPECT PROPER OPERATION OF
ANY OF THE ABOVE CONTROL SYSTEM IF
THE SUPPLY VOLTAGE AT THE HEATER EXCEEDS +10% OR 15%.
LIGHTING
the heater must be interrupted before the heater
can be restarted.
MAINTENANCE
Occasionally pilots or the main burner refuse to
function properly after a summer shutdown. The
main burner passageways can be cleaned out by
using a flexible brush comparable to the type
used to clean bottles. (In several instances, small
cocoons or spider webs have been found present
in these areas.)
