_________________ READ

____________ ANALYZE

_______________ WRITE

Students read 3 pre-selected long essays or

passages. Reading selections cover a range of
topics that are of historic relevance, represent a
paradigm shift in thinking, or discuss a
significant contemporary issue.

After reading, students engage in open

discussion. An instructor then guides students
on how to not only break down each reading
selection for analysis, but also analyze each
selection in different ways.

Each student then selects one of the three

reading selections for analysis and proceeds
to write a full-length essay that demonstrates
clear and logical thinking and precise use of
language.

SB WORKSHOPS are worksheet-oriented (not lecture-based)
