April 17, 2015
Today is my first day of OJT. I was introduced to their software which is used in billing the
costumers. I was assigned to encode, read plans, and create account for new costumers for the
new connection.

Today, I was in the office doing office works, encoding, and billing the costumers.
April 21, 2015
Today, all I was doing yesterday is what I did today. Working on computers, reading some plans,
and encoding some papers that my supervisor told me.

I was assigned at the field, my job is in the maintenance and we troubleshoot if there is fault. We
install new watt-hour meter in a rubber factory.

We install a transformer 25 kVA at a rice mill.
April 24, 2015
Today we install a single phase transformer which is rated at 37.5 kVA. We are only 5 people in
the job. We change the post and then installed the transformer.

I was assigned again in the maintenance. We cleared all the trees that interrupt the line.
April 28 29, 2015
I was assigned in substation maintenance. I recorded the data that was used in maintaining the
substation. I turned on and off the cutout fuse because there is a shortage of power in our area.
April 30, 2015
We install two 50 kVA transformer at the Municipality of Salug building because the 37.5 kVA
cannot carry the load. They have many air conditioners and machine which is used to grind. Our
temporary transformers ground wire was melted due to their excessive load consumption.

We install a new steel post and we transfer the wires and transformer to the new steel post from a
wood post.
May 5, 2015
We repair the wire that was cut due to bad weather. The coconut tree is the reason why the wire
was damaged.

Today, we were installing a transformer in a machine shop.

We repair and transfer the watt-hour meter in a consumers house. We also checked the substation
because there is a power curtailment.

We install a 5 kVA transformer in a small village.

We changed the busted 15 kVA transformer in a farm.

We repair the wire that was hit by a bullet due to military and muslim conflict.
May 13-15, 2015
I was assigned as a substation tender. I turn on and off the cutout fuse because of the power
curtailment.
May 18, 2015
Today my colleagues and I was assigned in the maintenance. We find the entire fault in our area.
We repair some wires that was hit a heavy truck.
May 19, 2015
Today, my work is to assist the lineman for his tools. I watched also the driver of the crane on
how to maneuver the crane. We cleared out the tree that was touching into the primary wire.

Today, I was given another assignment. We repair our vehicle. I helped the mechanic to give him
the tools he need. After we finished repairing the vehicle, we test drive it and we load a
transformer in the back and deliver it near the substation. We install also the transformer for
temporary use in many homes.

I was assigned in the maintenance group. We repair and install a digital watt-hour meter in many
houses. We also repair a wire that was cut due to falling trees because of the wind and rain.
May 22, 2015
Today I was back at the substation as a tender. I received a call from a radio ordering me to turn
off the feeder that was mentioned and then I just follow their order because it is legal. Power in
Mindanao is not sufficient thats why they have a schedule for blackouts.

Today my work is to go with the other line man. We were given orders that we have to reconnect
some houses and repair their wires because it was corroded due to their area near the sea. We
repair the main line and the transformer that was busted. We change the transformer which is
rated at 25kVA.

Today we install a transformer rated at 37.5kVA at a farm which has an FM station. The owner of
the farm was the congressman of the district. We were invited in his house and eat lunch. The
area was very beautiful and many trees were maintained for preventing global warming.
May 27, 2015
Today we were using the crane and transferring the service pole due to road widening. Our
service pole would be hit if that was not transferred. We also adjust the wire of another pole by
the use of ratchet lever because the wire is too low.
May 28, 2015
Today I was assigned to clear some trees because it is touching the primary line. We checked up
the transformer and it tripped out. We also install a 15kVA transformer in a small barangay which
is used for their water pump. The barangay captain was very happy and we did celebrate in their
barangay hall.

Today was my last day of OJT. We install a 25kVA transformer in a farm that uses a machine to
mill some food for pigs and chicken. We also install a panel board and a relay for extra
protection. We also add a capacitor to reduce its power factor.
