TITLE OF THE STUDY

A study on job stress among the nurses with special reference to Vinayaka Hospital
Sulthan Bathery

NEED FOR THE STUDY


An individual who works in a stressful environment is less likely to be committed
towards his organization. This study aims at establishing awareness among the employees in
textile industry of factors which make up a stressful situation and impress persistently an interest
among them to face such situations. This study is intended to find out the factors which lead to
job stress among nurses in Vinayaka Hospital, Sulthan Bathery.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The issue of work related stress and stress management among the nurses in Hospital is
discussed in this study. Stress management techniques proposed have varied across a wide
spectrum of approaches, ranging from managing the work environment to reducing external
sources of stress to managing the individuals intrapersonal factors.

This study attempts to find

out the problems of work stress of nurses in private hospital by evaluating current issues in a
systematic manner.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY


To study the job stress among the Nurses in Vinayaka Hospital
To study the level of stress among nurses in the hospital
To study the reason for stress among the nurses
To find out the remedial measures for reducing job stress among the nurses.

RESARCH METHODOLOGY
Research in common practice refers to the search for knowledge. It is to deliver answers
through certain scientific procedures. Research is to view in depth about certain aspects which
are very important in the smooth functioning of a procedures features and analyzing various
attributes which should be put forth.

Descriptive research method is used for this study
Methods of data collection
Primary data
Primary Data are those which are collected a fresh and for the first time and thus
happened to be original in character. Primary data were collected by questionnaire. A closed
ended questionnaire was formulated to find out the stress level of the nurses. The questionnaire
was framed to find out the opinion of the employees and random sampling was used for the data
collection.
Secondary data
The secondary data refers to the data which have already been collected and analyzed by
someone else. Secondary data were collected from books, company records and websites.

Data collection method


A structured questionnaire is used for collecting data by simple random sampling
techniques
Plan for Data Analysis
The researcher uses simple percentage and Chi-square tests as a tool for analysis to derive
the tables and draw charts to prepare the survey report.
