Storing of Hand Tools, Parts and Equipments
Learning Objectives:
After reading this INFORMATION SHEET, YOU MUST be able to:
1. Enumerate the different good practices in storing tools, parts and
equipment;
2. Acquaint to the different benefits in practicing proper storage of tools
parts and equipment.
PROPER STORAGE OF TOOLS, PARTS, AND EQUIPMENT
To ensure that tools and equipment remain in good condition and last for
a long time, proper storage must be observed. When tools and equipment are
properly stored, they are easy to find and are less likely lost.
The following are the good practices to follow:
Label and store parts properly. You can use bins in storing small parts.
(Figure 1)
Label tools and place it on the board. Consider drawing the shapes of the
tools on the board so that they can put it back in the same position after
using. (Figure 2)
Assign a responsible individual for the good maintenance of tools and
parts.
