Director General (DWE) Talking Points

It is my pleasure to congratulate the participants on the completion of three days


workshop on the Occupational Safety & Health.
The following organization participated:
Air Weapon Centre, Rescue 1122, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce, Islamabad
Chamber of Commerce , EOBI, Echochange, , Fecto Cement, PINSTECH, PAEC,
NDC.

Brief of Course
The main focus in occupational health is on three different objectives:
the maintenance and promotion of workers health and working capacity
The improvement of working environment and work to become conducive
to safety and health.
Development of work organizations and working cultures in a direction
which supports health and safety at work and in doing so also promotes a
positive social climate and smooth operation and may enhance productivity
of the undertakings.

Objectives
Update the knowledge of participants about the hazard / risk at workplace & how
to eliminate / reduce the hazards, as well as to educate them the importance of
Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).

Outcomes
After attending the subject course, the participants will be able to identify the
workplace hazards. They will care for better housekeeping, suitable storing of
material and proper mechanical operations. The participants will learn the
importance and proper use of personnel protective equipments (PPEs) at their
workplace.

I thank the Chief Guest for gracing the closing ceremony. In the end I appreciate
my team for organizing a successful Training course.

As training objectives, recognition of job hazards, learning
safe work practices and appreciating other preventive
measures are expected to contribute to the goal of reducing
occupational risk of injury and disease.
Occupational Safety and Health instruction as a component
of both regular job training and worksite hazard control
program practices.

I also congratulate Dr. Tanvir Kayani, Director General of


Directorate of Workers Education for successfully organizing
this training course.
