According to the work order confirm the prefinished PVC bars whether can meet the requirements
or notthen choose the slitting shaft according to
the diameter of the paper core. Feel confused about
the number-setting? Do not know how to do it? Here
is the method of setting the slitting number: Measure
the adhesive-surface width of pre-finished bars and
the width is divided by the width of the tape and set
the number of rolls. The tolerance of the roll width is
0.5mm. Paper core can not be damaged and all the
rolls must be qualified with adhesive. When get the
first roll check and keep it.
When you finish the slitting work , the fracture
surface of the tapes must be clean, burr-free and flat,
this is not only for better appearance concern but also
the product quality concerns.
When slitting the pre-finished bars there is no
need to use additional lubricant. Under some special
condition some water can be used but never use oil or
other lubricant containing solvent and avoid affecting
the performance of the products.
When you choose the slitting tools, circular saw
and emery wheel can never be used for PVC tapes. And
try to avoid damaging tapes with high temperature and
scratching the surface of tapes.
Always check the slitting quality and the machine
condition. Write down the documentation carefully
and at the same time fill in lot number of coating and
slitting and the present progress of the order. When
finish the work order or change the shift, the last roll
must be checked as the first roll.
The product package covers all the factors of the
brand and can convey the instant visual perception
to the customers. The surface of finished rolls must
be clean, the package with trade mark must be intact
and round label should be in the middle. Several rolls
of PVC tapes must be straightly packed together, then
packed in to the box.
The equipments in the slitting workshop and the
environment must be clean, there should not have
trash and dust; avoid the dust from contaminating the
tapes.

organic solvent, otherwise will affect the performance

Notes about slitting the

pre-finished PVC Bars

Po l y m e r i c p l a s t i c i z e r i s e n v i ro n m e n t a l friendly and without benzene ring; When it

is applied on PVC film manufacture, the heat
resistance and migration resistance is excellent
and so is the insulating proper ty and in
compliance with Europe and America standards.
Polymeric plasticizer is made from condensation
reaction and with better water resistance. The
tapes made with polymeric plasticizer have better
weather resistance, high-temperature resistance
and better performance.

2Difference between DINP and

DOP
The benzene-ring molecular chain of DINP is
longer than DOP; When DINP is applied on film
manufacture the product has good performance,
low volatility, environmental-friendly and good
insulating performance and also in compliance
with Europe Reach Regulations. PVC tape made
with DINP has better anti-aging performance.
Because Europe and America will ban the use of
DOP, so eventually DINP will take place of DOP
for PVC tape manufacture.

5Difference between Low-VOC

Automobile Wire Harness Tapes
and Common Automobile Wire
Harness Tapes?
Low-VOC tapes do not contain harmful
chemicals like methanal, acetaldehyde and
other aldehyde and neither contain benzene,
toluene, dimethylbenzene, biphenyl,
anthracene and etc; Or Low-VOC products
has very strict content limits for such harmful
chemicals. The present Low-VOC tapes are
mainly wire harness tapes made of waterbase pressure sensitive adhesive. The LowVOC tapes are used a lot in Japan automobile
industry. With the trend people care more
and more about heath and environment,
Low-VOC tapes will gradually take place of
common wire harness tapes.

3Difference between Common PVC

tape and Flame Resistant Tape
Flame retardant is used when making
flame resistant tapes. The tapes has good flame
resistance and in compliance with America LV312
and Europe IEC60454 standards. When people
care more and more about flame resistance,
the flame resistant tapes are gaining more and
more market share in electrical & electronics,
automobile wire harness industries and civilian
market. The flame resistant tapes can prevent fire
caused by current leakage.

4Difference between PVC tapes and

Cloth Tapes?
Cloth tapes has better cold-weather and heat
resistance and also has better breathability and
are mainly applied on automobile wire harness
with higher strength and better shock resistant
and abrasion resistant performance. Cloth tapes
have used a lot in Europe automobile industry.
Use woven and non-woven polyester cloth as
substrate and coated with pressure sensitive
adhesive . According to different par ts to be
applied and different compound, the cloth tape
has the following proper ties: noise reducing,
abrasion resistant, shock resistant, tear-easy and
high temperature resistant. PVC tapes are made
with flexible film and coated with PSA, so the
PVC tapes do not have same properties as cloth
tapes.
