About this position


This position is part of Southern California Edisons (SCE) University and Campus Relations Internship Program. The
internship is scheduled for the summer of 2014, with an estimated start date of May/June 2014 and an estimated end date
of August/September 2014.
SCE offers these programs with the belief that learning and development are important parts of building future leaders. Our
summer internships help students gain real-world experience by placing them in teams within the operating units where
they will work on projects that support the strategic initiatives of the business. Interns will also have the opportunity to
participate in intern mixers, executive speaker series, site tours, community volunteer events, and cross-company
networking.
Organizational Unit Overview:
Southern California Edisons Power Supply organizational unit ensures that SCE customers have enough electricity to meet
their needs, through the output of SCE-owned generation plants and the purchase of electricity from independent
generators. We engage in multi-year contracts from both traditional and renewable generators, and conduct day-ahead and
real time trading to serve our customers electricity demands.

Position Overview:
This position is within the Fundamental Modeling and Analysis group of the Power Supply organizational unit. The
Fundamental Modeling and Analysis group is responsible for the procurement of Congestion Revenue Right (CRRs) from
California ISOs monthly, annual, and long-term allocation and auction markets for Southern California Edisons generation
resources.The successful candidate for this position will learn the CRR procurement process, help with developing a
centralized database to store the massive historic data related to CRR procurement. In addition, the successful candidate
will write excel VBA codes to set up automated data collection, import and export process.In addition, the successful
candidate must maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices
while performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

Must currently be pursuing a bachelor degree with an emphasis on Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
or related field at an accredited institution with a graduation date of December 2014 or later.
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.00 or higher.
Must have experience with Access or SQL database application.
Must have experience with programming; typically possess experience with VBA programming.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing information, verifying the accuracy of data, and developing
recommendations.
Demonstrated experience identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables,
developing/presenting/facilitating presentations of data and recommendations, collaborating on cross-functional teams to
meet objectives, and illustrating excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate strong ethics, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and
engage in continuous learning.

This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate
must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete
specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
