According to the Waste Management and Minimization Compliance to Environmental Quality


(Scheduled Waste) Regulations, 2005, Every waste generator shall ensure that all his
employees involved in the identification, handling, labelling, transportation, storage, and
spillage or discharge response for scheduled wastes attend training programmes.
This same requirement for training applies to all employees of waste contractors involved in
the handling, transportation and storage of scheduled waste. This workshop is also named as
Scheduled Waste Management.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the training, delegates will be able to:


understand, implement and ensure compliance to the EQA (Scheduled Waste)
Regulations 2005
scheduled wastes will be better managed in a systematic, effective and legal manner.

Course Leader

Megat holds a Masters Degree in Manufacturing System Engineering and Bachelor Degree in
Mechanical Engineering. He started work at DENSO (M) Sdn Bhd (Japanese based company)
in 2001 as a QA/QC Engineer cum Safety, Health & Environment Officer and was responsible
in establishing many Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Programs such as Calibration
Methodology, Mechanical Testing & Reliability, Problem Solving, 7 QC Tools, Statistical
Process Control, Emergency Response Plan, Fire Fighting, Chemical Safety, LOTO, Hearing
Conservation, Permit to work, Contractor Safety Passport, Kiken Yochi Program, Schedule
Waste, Industrial Effluents and many others. Apart from establishing the programs, he also led
the company to achieve ISO TS16949:2002 (2003) and Selangor Environmental Awards
(2007).
In 2007, he was called on to Nestle (M) Sdn Bhd, a Switzerland based company as their
Safety, Health & Environmental Manager in charge of NESTLEs Safety, Health &
Environmental programs and activities. During his tenure in Nestle, he led the organization to
accomplishe the Integrated Management System Certification comprises of ISO
22000:2005,ISO14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001:2007.
In 2009, he joined F&N Dairies (M) Sdn Bhd, a Singapore based company as a Safety, Health
& Environmental Manager in charge of the factorys programs, activities and legal related
issues.
In 2011, he is full time into training as well as provide advisory services on Safety, Health,
Environment & Risk Management for a few oil and gas company such as SVP Petroleum and
SEM Inspection. His main duty is to provide professional advice and training to the Plant MD,
Plant Manager and the key employees on Safety, Health and Environmental related issues.
He has also been engaged by NIOSH to conduct training for a few programs such as NIOSH
Safety & Health Officer Program, NIOSH Talk, Contractor Safety Passport System, Syabas
NIOSH Safety Passport and NIOSH Nestle Passport System.
