Saturday scramble!
The clock struck twelve and the race was on as
those entered into the Glasgow Area Chamber of
Commerce & Agricultures 19th Annual Ice Fishing
Derby scrambled to claim their fishing holes. Despite
winds gusting to nearly 50 miles per hour, it was once
again a great turnout; fortunately the snow cover
provided good footing rather than sliding around on
bare ice! And the fishing was pretty darned good in
gunning for the $2,000 guaranteed first prize as 10
fish were caught in the first 10 minutes. In fact, a
2.06-pound northern pike caught at 12:20 p.m. by
the Glasgow Evangelical Youth Group was holding The right idea! It was the only ice shack featured in
