CHRISTIAN WORKSHOP #2
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to
the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the
captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
The aim of this workshop was to share spiritual knowledge to enable individuals
grow spiritually and be effective members of the Kingdom of God. Our country
has seen the mushrooming of many churches and it is questionable if these
organizations are serving the needs of individuals. Efforts such as this workshop
is an attempt by ordinary people to learn from each other and share experiences.

DELIVERANCE
3
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the
children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
Mark 7:27
I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust."
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous
pestilence.
Psalm 91:2-3
But now the Lord my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither
adversary nor evil occurrent.
1 Kings 5: 4
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed
them.
Genesis 3: 2
Deliverance is undoing the works of the devil. It is an expression of Gods mercy and
compassion. There should not be any fear in seeking deliverance as fear is one of the
tools the enemy uses to deny believers from seeking deliverance. The day you can be
set free from your spiritual enemies and then equipped to stay that way is a great day.
Deliverance is meant to bring you into rest. Deliverance from demons will bring you into
rest (shalom).
Jesus not only brought judgment but mercysalvation, deliverance and healing. God is
absolutely faithful to covenant. By Jesus coming to earth bringing salvation and
deliverance we see the personification of Gods faithfulness. Mercy is connected to
covenant.
For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he
swore by himself
Hebrews 6: 13
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.
Psalm 136:
4
1. Entice us to sin
2. Harass
3. Torment
4. Compel
5. Enslave (4 +5 = Addition)
6. Defile
7. Deceive
8. Weaken/ make sick or tired/ Kill
All of us need deliverance from time to time. There are no exceptions! As we grow in our
discernment, we realize areas in our lives where the enemy has strongholds and we
need to recover the territory.
For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the
Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will
cut them off.
Numbers 23: 23
I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate,
and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
Number 23: 29
AREAS OF RESIDENCE
In the book, Pigs in the Parlor, Frank and Ida Hammond name seven areas in our lives
that will show signs that we need deliverance. These areas are:
There is little agreement what demons are or their origins. However, they are terrestrial
beings and do not fly. They are not Satans angels contrary to some beliefs. Some think
they are pre-adamic beings and others hold the view that they are the spirits of the
souls destroyed in the flood.
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking
rest, and findeth none.
Mathew 12: 43

DELIVERANCE PROCEDURE
1. The minister should help the person repent and forgive everyone that has hurt
them or is causing forgiveness. Without repentance and forgiveness, there can
be no deliverance. Try to ask the individual why he needs deliverance or what
he/she wishes Jesus to do for them!
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant,
I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I
had pity on thee?
And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all
that was due unto him
2. The minister should take spiritual authority that he/she has through Christ. He
should bind the powers over the area, break assignments from powers in the air
to demons in the person. Ask for angelic protection (Hebrews 1: 14). Ask and
receive by faith the gifts of the Spirit to minister. Finally he/she should close the
hedge around the person that has been damaged by sin. We have a hedge
around us that protects us from demons.
Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that
he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his
substance is increased in the land.
Job 1: 9-10
He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent
shall bite him.
Ecclesiastes 10:8
7
3. Usually there is a curse upon a person who needs deliverance. A curse gives
demons legal authority to operate upon a person. Break the curses using the
Word of God!
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us:
for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree
Galatians 3: 13
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross
Colossians 2: 14
4. The deliverance minister then calls out the demons by name. This information is
gained by interviewing the person before the session as well as by the direction
and discernment of the Holy Spirit. This is the most difficult part, identifying
demons. There are demons that are very common and should always be called
out. For example rejection, pride, idolatry, unforgiveness, ancestral demons. If a
woman has performed an abortion, the demon of murder should be called out
and of course the person should repent this since as murder. If a demons is not
known, address it by function, area of residence, how it came in, etc. Feel free to
guess as it will not do any harm and you may make a right guess. The person
may manifest the demons in the eyes or the demon may speak out. This does
not always happen. It has not happened to me so far. In addition, the person may
start coughing or burping. Always ensure you have enough paper towels and a
bucket around. The person will usually spit phlegm. Thats why you need a
bucket. In some cases you may have to constrain a person with the help of
someone else. Some people may want to walk away or say they are going to the
bathroom. Sometimes you should be careful that it is not the demon talking so as
to avoid deliverance. As a minister you can also command the demons to be
silent and not to manifest. Repeatedly remind the spirits that your authority is
from Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1: 21). Remind them of their fate in Revelations 20:
10. Harass the demons to confess Jesus Christ as Lord. Bind and separate
interfering spirits as God leads. Use the phrase Come Out!!
8
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow
rivers of living water.
John 7: 38
Encourage the person to speak in tongues after this. The deliverance is finished.
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the
oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they
might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be
glorified
Isaiah 61: 3
Of course this is a brief explanation and each step needs to be well understood by the
minister. However, these are the steps to follow and can be improved upon as one gets
experience.
Remember that deliverance is a process and continues for a long time (years). Some
people may not show any symptoms of being delivered but they will get it when they go
home or at a later time. As a minister, you should have faith that the person has been
delivered. Deliverance is usually a precursor to other ministries like healing or
activations. If a person is sick, it makes sense to deliver them before you pray for
healing!!
9
SELF-DELIVERANCE
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;
they shall speak with new tongues
Mark 16: 17
Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the
bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
Isaiah 52: 2
We can exercise power and authority for our own lives. Jesus told us to cast out the
beam from our own eye. The term cast out is the same word used in reference to
casting out demons
Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine
eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite,
cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out
the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
Luke 6: 42
Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the
fowler.
Proverbs 6: 5
The range of things that can bind a believer is almost limitless. Once you identify the
enemy, you can proceed to free yourself from his clutches
10
He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without
walls.
Proverbs 25: 28
BENEFITS OF DELIVERANCE
While many deliverances involve obvious physical manifestations, not all react in this
manner. Some spirits leave quietly and nonviolently. What you should expect is a
release when:
1. Oppressive force disappears
2. Heaviness lifts
3. Uneasiness goes away
4. Burden or load lightens
5. There is an inner sense of liberty freedom and divine satisfaction or contentment
6. The Joy of the Lord comes and you are able to rejoice
11
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in
the Holy Ghost.
Romans 14: 17
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Mathew 12: 28
There is also benefit for the deliverance minister as the Lord delivers them too (Own
experience)
The illness is rebuked directly in the same manner as the demons, as though it is an
individual. There is a small line between deliverance and healing
One word activation: This activation is simple. When you stand before a person, believe
God for just one word. It could be grace, power, love, or mercy. Launch from the one
word God gives you into the prophetic flow. Sometimes God gives us one word, and as
we speak prophetically, the word will expand and flow.
New thing: This activation begins with praying for God to do something new in the
persons life you are ministering to. As you pray believe God for a word that will release
something new in a persons life, then launch into the prophetic flow. You can prophesy
new doors, new anointing, new relationships, new health, new revelation and the like.
See, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring
forth I tell you of them
Isaiah 42: 9
Activation of feet: Pray for the feet of the person. The feet represent the persons walk,
path and journey. Ask the Lord to give you a word, and launch into the prophetic flow.
Words that can be released during this kind of activation can include new feet, beautiful
feet, new path, different path, travel, and so on
12
So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived
and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army
Ezekiel 37:10
Activating the mind: Lay your hand on the persons head and pray for the mind and
thought life. Ask the Lord to give you a word for their mind and thoughts, and launch into
the prophetic word. Words can include knowledge, intelligence, creativity, order,
restoration, and the like.
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and now my thoughts
Psalm 139: 23
There are certain traits and behaviors a deliverance minister should acquire or possess:
1. Love for Gods people
2. Confidentiality
3. Understanding that deliverance is part of Gods covenant
4. Treat people with respect and not embarrassing them. Any information obtained
should be need to know. Details not necessary should not be extracted e.g. its
enough to know that a woman performed an abortion and no other details are
necessary!!
5. Should be led by the Spirit when He wishes to do so
