The dead load and Equipment Load has been assigned in seismic load case at both X & Z
directions. Seismic analysis has been carried out using Response spectrum Analysis. As per IBC 2009
section 1613, IBC recommends ASCE 7-05 for seismic effects on structures.
X- dir Y- dir
Seismic Response Coefficient, Cs = SDS / (R/I)
= 0.068 0.068
For T < TL, Cs should not exceed = SD1 / T (R/I)
= 0.0258 0.0258
For T > TL, Cs should not exceed = SD1 TL / T2 (R/I)
= 0.639 0.077

Since the dynamic base shear is less than the static base shear, the factor f shall be
(Cl.12.9.4 ASCE 7-05)
fx = 0.85 (Vbase,static / Vbase,dynamic) fy = 0.85 (Vbase,static / Vbase,dynamic)
= 2.71 > 1 = 2.36 > 1

Therefore, for re-analysis, the scale factors are assigned in the model in respective directions in ETABS
as shown above
The scale factors are recheck as below and the factors are considered in ASD combinations.
The combined response of the modal base shear Vbase,dynamic is greater than 85 percent of the calculated
base shear (V) using the equivalent lateral force procedure.
